+lightweight and takes up little space in the backpack +for protection against rain, highly recommended -sleeping in it is possible but I personally don't recommend it as a poncho and small tarp it's just great but as a bivy bag it's weak after a short time, the inside walls become damp, and thus cold.
Exceptionally lightweight, waterproof, and insulated sleeping bag featuring a removable hood and integrated face mosquito net Functions as a hammock underquilt, outer sleeping bag (can be paired, for instance, with a sleeping bag from the Walker series), or a poncho. Hideout Thermo may also be joined with a second identical camping tarp to create a two-person bivy bag.
Constructed from robust polyester with ripstop mesh All seams and zippers are guarded against moisture ingress The Thermo lining efficiently reflects the body's natural warmth and blocks 98% of UV rays (UPF50+)
Hideout is fitted with two interior zippered pockets The removable hood and fine mesh mosquito net safeguard the head, face, and neck from mosquitoes, blackflies, ticks, and other insects The rigid frame ensures the mesh remains off the face
Using the included expanders, the sleeping bag can be converted into a hammock underquilt/cover or a functional rain poncho with a mosquito net concealed within the hood

A very versatile product. As a bivy, it works well together with a blanket or sleeping bag. During cold nights, which is most of the year, condensation collects inside, so for your own comfort, it's worth having something between your body and the thermal layer—a sleeping bag or blanket will be ideal. Another issue with sleeping in the Hideout alone is the cold you feel where your body presses against the thermal layer—some kind of ground insulation will solve this problem. I also have the insulated version of the Hideout (I managed to buy literally the last piece), where such inconveniences do not occur. Unfortunately, the warm version is currently unavailable. Therefore, Bushmen bivy enthusiasts are left with the basic Hideout version only. But it's still a great choice, as apart from being a bivy, it can also be turned into a poncho/tarp, rain cape, or a hammock underquilt. The Hideout has several zippers. You need to be careful when unzipping them because they overlap and sometimes one slider blocks the other. In such cases, gently separate them and then open the zipper. This inconvenience is due to the manufacturer’s effort to keep rainwater from getting inside the bivy. The Hideout is definitely the most ingenious product from Bushmen. Minimalist campers and lightweight travelers will surely appreciate it. I personally liked it a lot.

I'm writing this review after almost a year of use—maybe not very intensive, but the Bushmen Hideout Thermo Bivy Bag survived the whole winter and heavy rains without any issues. Impregnated with Nikwax twice (at the beginning and early spring). A great invention, although you do have to practice pitching it because at first, it can be a bit frustrating, but you get the hang of it quickly. Buying this bivy/rain cape was one of the best decisions for my gear. I’ve slept in it during heavy downpours several times, and nothing got wet. It will definitely serve you well on hikes, at borders, and in other outdoor activities. I highly recommend it, and if you’re thinking about buying it, don’t hesitate—the Bushmen Hideout Thermo Bivy Bag is multifunctional.

An excellent element of survival gear, multifunctional! You can use it as a bivy, rain poncho, blanket, thermal blanket, emergency sleeping bag... The quality is, as always with Bushmen, top notch! The material is an amazing thermal insulator, protecting against heat loss and, in hot days, shielding from the sun and insulating from the heat, providing comfort. Anyone who has tried Bushmen products knows what I mean. Like all things from Bushmen, I recommend this product as well, and it's worth highlighting how versatile it is—it will work in many situations.

A versatile invention. I only use it as a bivy. It's excellent for stealth camping. You can use it in the field year-round. All you need is a proper sleeping bag or blanket, depending on the season. In the rain, a poncho or tarp will also come in handy. The first thing to do when you purchase the Bushmen Thermo Hideout is to treat the material with permethrin. After that, you can enjoy sleeping in the forest without worry. The bivy is long enough to fit not only an adult but also your gear. Two internal pockets are useful for your phone, keys, or other small items. The mosquito net with a frame keeps insects away from your face. You can fit a small pillow in the hood for a more comfortable sleep. For me, the Bushmen Hideout (as a bivy bag) is a nice alternative to a tent or hammock and the best choice if I want to minimize the risk of my camp being detected by others. I recommend buying it—it's worth it.

Great bivy. Waterproof and tough in severe conditions. Doesn't take up much space. It's worth putting a sleeping bag inside and carrying them together in one bag. You can quickly unpack and pack for camping.
-
Great universal product. It can be used as a bivy—which is the default configuration it comes in—but it can also be easily (after some practice, which is necessary here) converted into a poncho, tarp, or an underquilt for a hammock. I have used it as an underquilt and bivy, and it works perfectly in both roles. Using it as a tarp or poncho is more of a backup solution for products dedicated for that purpose, but if you need to limit your luggage, it is an indispensable universal solution. If you want to use it as a poncho, I suggest configuring the Hideuot for this option in advance—it makes sense then (reconfiguring it requires skill and time). As a bivy, it has rather low breathability, so on colder nights, moisture can condense on the inside—I recommend using an additional layer between the bivy and your body, like a sleeping bag. The mosquito net used and the way it's attached is ideal for me—great addition to the bivy.

Very versatile product. Works as a bivy and poncho. Also serves as an insulating layer for a hammock. The mosquito net patent ensures peace at night. You just need to practice changing configurations, as they are not that obvious or easy the first time. Fortunately, it's initially set up as a bivy.

A versatile and very high-quality product. Lightweight and durable. Excellent as an emergency shelter. It's worth practicing changing the configuration several times, so you can do it quickly in case you suddenly need to switch from one form to another. I recommend it.

Fantastic product! Durable, lightweight, 'packable,' and well-designed; it's probably the most multifunctional poncho on the market. Wearing clothes, you can sleep in it without a sleeping pad down to 14°C (though it won’t be super comfortable). Tested during the Scorpion maneuvers at the training ground in Wesoła. On YouTube and the producer's website, there are instructions on how to convert the poncho into a sleeping bag or tarp.
