Casstrom Lars Falt Canvas Micarta A8 Mod Kydex Fixed Blade Knife

A knife with a total length of 230 mm and a blade 115 mm long with a Drop-Point profile, made of A8 Mod tool steel. The blade features a Scandi (Scandinavian) grind. The blade has a satin finish, giving it a matte appearance. The handle scales are made of natural-colored Micarta. The set includes a sheath made of damage-resistant Kydex. Swedish survival expert Lars Fält is responsible for the knife's design.

A8 Mod tool steel

The blade is made of A8 Mod tool steel, characterized by high resistance to chipping and ease of sharpening while maintaining very good working sharpness. Thanks to the content of chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium, it provides a favorable combination of impact resistance, blade stability, and wear resistance. It is especially useful in working and outdoor knives, where resistance to heavy loads is important.

Drop-Point profile blade, Scandi grind

Blade with a length of 115 mm and a thickness of 4 mm and a Drop-Point profile, designed for maximum tip strength. This profile is particularly useful in outdoor and EDC applications, where a combination of high penetration ability and optimal blade control is required.

The knife has a Full Tang construction, meaning the tang of the blade runs through the entire handle. The Lars Falt model uses a Scandi grind, providing increased resistance to damage. The blade is finished with a Satin method, giving a matte effect.

Ergonomic handle made of Micarta

Ergonomically shaped handle scales are made of Micarta in a natural color. With use, the material gradually darkens and acquires a characteristic patina that highlights its structure. This process is a typical feature of the raw material and does not negatively affect its durability or usability.

Kydex sheath

The set includes a rigid sheath made of Kydex equipped with an integrated leather loop that allows safe knife carrying on a belt.

Kydex feature
Kydex
Kydex is a thermoplastic, durable material commonly used in the production of knife sheaths. It is resistant to impact, scratches, and changing weather conditions, and has very low moisture absorption. The sheaths are molded directly onto the knife, which guarantees a perfect fit, high durability, and complete safety—the blade remains securely in place even during dynamic movements. Due to its durability and customization options, Kydex has gained popularity in the tactical and survival industries. Sheaths are often equipped with additional mounting holes with metal eyelets, which increase their durability and allow for easy attachment of buckles, clips, or loops to a belt or harness.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.
Micarta feature
Micarta
Micarta is a composite material made of layers of fabric (including canvas, linen, and paper) soaked in resin and pressed under high pressure and temperature. It is characterized by high mechanical strength, resistance to impact, abrasion, and changing weather conditions, as well as dimensional stability, which makes it ideal for knife handles. The surface of Micarta provides a secure grip and can be finished smooth or left with a slight texture to improve control over the tool. The material does not conduct heat or electricity, tolerates contact with moisture well, and acquires a characteristic patina over time, emphasizing the individual style of the knife. Thanks to its combination of durability, environmental resistance, and unique appearance, Micarta is widely used in EDC, outdoor, and collector's knives.
