A compact telescope designed for easy operation, ideal for both backyard observations and use during outdoor excursions. User-friendly controls enable both beginners and experienced users to conduct advanced celestial viewing.
The Celestron SE telescope series features short catadioptric optical tubes paired with lightweight single-arm azimuth mounts, all equipped with the GoTo system. Automatic object location in the night sky is a key advantage of this system, making it especially beneficial for targeting faint celestial bodies. A RedDot finder assists in quickly pinpointing bright stars and planets.
The Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tube has an aperture of 203 mm and a focal length of 2032 mm. A StarBright XLT anti-reflective coating on the corrector plate reduces loss of light. Compared to the 4SE and 5SE, the azimuth mount is upgraded by removing the equatorial wedge and increasing both the head size and weight. Power is supplied either by 8 AA batteries housed in the head or via an external 12 V adapter.
The system uses the NexStar controller with a 38181-object database and offers 9 slew speeds. Correct operation requires manual alignment using up to three reference stars, enabling the system to find listed or user-defined targets. Computer connection is supported for running popular astronomical software, requiring an additional RS232-USB adapter.
A top-tier Plossl eyepiece with a 25 mm focal length and a 50-degree apparent field of view is included. The T-Adapter SCT facilitates camera attachment. Optional connectivity supports StarSense auto-align and the Celestron SkySync GPS. The SkyQ Link module provides wireless control capabilities.
