I have already come across Celox in the military. It is an expensive agent, but in a crisis situation, it can save a life. I purchased one piece for the first aid kit in my emergency backpack. I hope I will not have to use it.
Layered tactical field dressing engineered for swift hemorrhage control. This dressing integrates a hemostatic agent with gauze as the carrier material. Advanced design ensures that the compact size of the dressing does not compromise its performance in controlling bleeding. Celox dressings are formulated to prevent blood loss from injured vessels.
Intended for the management of severe and life-threatening bleeding, including arterial injuries, where traditional bleeding control techniques (such as direct pressure) are inadequate or when the bleeding site cannot be accessed.
Hemostatic gauze, folded in a "Z" pattern and saturated with Celox hemostatic compound, enables efficient and targeted application. The gauze's configuration provides lower bulk while preserving optimal effectiveness in hemorrhage control. The short, layered packing of the gauze streamlines placement and minimizes application time. Compact, camouflaged packaging contains one 150 cm gauze strip, layered for convenience.
How it works:
The unique compound in these dressings – chitosan – initiates rapid clotting at the bleeding source, forming a stable clot within approximately 3 minutes of application, which remains intact even after flushing the wound with saline.
Chitosan is effective on both hypothermic blood and blood treated with heparin.
CELOX dressings provide antimicrobial protection to safeguard wounds from infection and are safe to use, as they do not generate heat and will not stick to the wound.
Appropriate and safe application of the dressing necessitates prior training

Medclot dressings ran out so I bought these, both are equally good. It's worth having such supplies in your first aid kit, they save lives.

A dressing that is recognizable and respected in the civilian and military markets. I hope it will expire and I will never find out how it works.
