Civivi Noctis Damascus Folding Knife - Wood

A folding knife with a blade with a Straight Back profile and a length of 75.7 mm, manufactured from corrosion-resistant damascus steel. It is equipped with a convenient to use Crossbar Lock and textured handle scales made of guibourtia (bubinga) wood.

The Noctis model will perform well during a wide range of activities - from everyday use (EDC) to light off-road work. The use of damage-resistant materials, refined design and precise workmanship translate into high durability of the tool.

hardened Damascus steel

The blade is made of high-quality Damascus steel with a clearly visible, distinctive pattern, hardened to 58–60 HRC. Repeated forging and welding create a structure with high strength, flexibility, and hardness. Layers with higher carbon content are responsible for sharpness and edge retention, while nickel-alloyed steel increases corrosion resistance and gives the blade its contrasting pattern.

blade with a Straight Back profile, flat grind, jimping

The model features a blade with a Straight Back profile, a smooth cutting edge, and a length of 75.7 mm. The blade is executed with a flat grind. Jimping (notching) is placed on the blade spine, allowing for a secure thumb rest and increased control over the blade during cutting.

Proper balance of the blade translates into better control over the knife. The weight is evenly distributed between the blade and the handle, ensuring higher cutting precision and reducing hand fatigue during prolonged use.

High-quality wood handle grips

The knife is equipped with an ergonomically shaped handle made of guibourtia wood (bubinga) in brown color. The material is characterized by high density and resistance to damage, moisture, and temperature changes. The wood surface features a slightly rough, natural texture that improves grip and gives the knife a distinctive appearance.

The handle is fitted with 3 holes that contribute to reducing the overall weight of the tool. The structure is reinforced with steel liners that ensure rigidity and stability.

thumb stud, Crossbar Lock

The knife is opened using a double-sided thumb stud allowing for its quick deployment with one hand. The process is enhanced by the use of a ceramic ball bearing. The blade is securely locked in the open position with an easy-to-use sliding Crossbar Lock.

springy clip and lanyard hole

Convenient carrying of the tool is enabled by a springy deep-carry clip made of damage-resistant stainless steel. The design allows for the clip's installation on either the right or left side, in the tip-up position. At the end of the handle, there is a hole for threading a cord or lanyard to prevent the knife from being lost.

Nitro-V feature
Nitro-V
Nitro-V is a modern martensitic stainless steel developed by New Jersey Steel Baron in cooperation with Buderus Steel. It is based on AEB-L steel, enriched with nitrogen (approx. 0.11%) and vanadium (up to 0.1%), which significantly improves corrosion resistance, impact strength, and edge durability. Carbon (0.68%) provides good hardness and chromium (approx. 13%) is responsible for stainlessness, making the steel resistant to moisture and acidic environments. After hardening, Nitro-V achieves a hardness of 58-63 HRC, offering a good combination of cutting aggression, toughness, and ease of re-sharpening. This steel is used in EDC, kitchen, and outdoor knives.
Damast feature
Damast
Damascus steel is a composite material created by combining multiple layers of different types of steel with varying properties. Repeated forging and welding creates a structure with high strength, flexibility, and hardness. Layers with a higher carbon content are responsible for the sharpness and durability of the edges, while nickel alloy steel increases corrosion resistance and provides a contrasting pattern. After etching the surface, a unique, wavy pattern characteristic of each piece is revealed. Thanks to its combination of functional and aesthetic properties, Damascus steel is used in premium knives, bladed weapons, and collector's knives.
Crossbar Lock feature
Crossbar Lock
Crossbar Lock is the general name of the mechanism used after the Benchmade patent expired in 2018. The design works on the same principle as the Axis Lock - a spring bar moves along the handle and locks the blade in the open position. The differences between manufacturers mainly concern the details of workmanship, materials, and the shape of the switches. The lock is double-sided, easy to use, and extremely popular in modern EDC knives. Thanks to its versatility, it has become the standard for many companies.
