Cold Steel Black S35VN Talon II Serrated Folding Knife

A folding knife featuring a curved Hawkbill blade profile, designed in partnership with Lynn C. Thompson and American knifemaker Andrew Demko. Crafted from S35VN steel, the blade is complemented by an ergonomic handle with black G10 laminate scales. When deployed, the blade is locked securely via the Tri-Ad Lock, while a rectangular thumb plate assists in smooth opening. Engineered for outdoor use and ideal as an EDC (Every Day Carry) tool.

Stainless steel S35VN

Forged from S35VN stainless steel utilizing advanced powder metallurgy, the blade offers excellent corrosion resistance and lasting edge retention. The refined grain structure enhances resistance to chipping and makes resharpening more straightforward.

Hawkbill profile blade

Equipped with a blade featuring a Hawkbill profile, measuring 102 mm in length and 3.5 mm in thickness. The serrated edge excels at slicing through fibrous materials like ropes, straps, and technical fabrics. A satin finish provides a consistent, linear texture, minimizes glare, and discreetly masks minor scratches from use.

Double-sided thumb disk, Tri-Ad Lock

Equipped with a thumb-operated disk on both sides, the blade enables ambidextrous deployment, making it possible to open the knife with either hand. The disk also allows for rapid opening by snagging it on the edge of a pocket. When fully extended, the blade is secured by the Tri-Ad Lock, an advanced version of the Back Lock system. This lock design delivers enhanced blade stability and significantly improves resistance to pressure.

G10 laminate scales, jimping, and lanyard hole

Durable G10 laminate is used for the profiled handle scales, ensuring excellent resistance to mechanical stress and environmental conditions. A non-slip texture provides a secure hold, even in wet or dirty situations. Enhanced control during blade use is achieved through jimping on the back of the handle at the thumb rest. A lanyard hole at the end of the handle allows for easy attachment of a safety cord.

steel clip

A sturdy steel clip in the tip-up configuration guarantees practical everyday carry, making it easy to secure the knife to a belt or the edge of a pocket. The clip is designed for installation on either the left or right side.

CPM S35VN feature
CPM S35VN
CPM S35VN is a stainless powder steel developed by Crucible Industries in collaboration with Chris Reeve, used in premium knives. It is an evolution of the popular S30V steel, offering a better balance between wear resistance, stainlessness, and ease of machining. Carbon (approx. 1.4%) is responsible for high hardness, while chromium (approx. 14%) gives the steel very good corrosion resistance, and vanadium (approx. 3%) extends edge life and improves cutting aggression. After hardening, it reaches 58-61 HRC, combining edge durability with fracture resistance. The steel retains its sharpness for a long time and is easy to sharpen, commonly used in EDC, outdoor, tactical, and collector's knives.
Tri-Ad Lock feature
Tri-Ad Lock
Tri-Ad Lock is a lock developed by Cold Steel and Andrew Demko, considered one of the strongest systems in folding knives. Its key element is a stop pin, which takes the pressure from the blade and distributes it to the handle, protecting the lock from wear and overload. The mechanism is designed to self-adjust over time, which maintains the reliability of the lock even after prolonged use. In tests, it has proven resistant to loads of up to hundreds of pounds, confirming its durability.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.

Beautiful and menacing knife. Despite its substantial size, it's light and comfortable in the pocket. The Wave function works flawlessly. You can feel the value in this knife. My only complaint is that the clip was too tight, but placing a thicker washer under the clip for two days solved the problem.

You can feel the quality in the grip and the steel. Great purchase, just still a bit expensive at 650 PLN! Very menacing.

Excellent knife. I carry it every day along with another folder and there is no better package opener than this one, it's insanely sharp, has very good steel and appearance, which might give some people chills.
