Cold Steel Black Talon II S35VN Folding Knife

Folding knife equipped with a blade crafted in a Hawkbill profile, designed through collaboration with Lynne C. Thompson and American knife designer Andrew Demko. Constructed from S35VN steel, the blade is paired with a handle featuring black G10 laminate scales. In the deployed position, the blade is locked securely using the Tri-Ad Lock mechanism, while deployment is facilitated by a rectangular thumb plate. Engineered for outdoor tasks, the knife also serves effectively as an EDC (Every Day Carry) tool.

Stainless steel S35VN

Forged from stainless steel S35VN using powder metallurgy, the blade offers excellent corrosion resistance and edge retention. Its refined grain structure minimizes chipping and makes resharpening easier.

Hawkbill profile blade

Featuring a Hawkbill-style blade, this knife boasts a length of 102 mm and a thickness of 3.5 mm. The blade's edge is crafted with a Flat Grind for smooth cutting performance. Finished using a satination technique, the blade displays a uniform, linear texture, diminishes surface glare, and effectively conceals light scratches that may develop during use.

Double-sided disc, Tri-Ad Lock

A thumb-operated disc located on both sides of the blade enables ambidextrous opening, making the knife easily accessible whether using the right or left hand. The disc also allows for a swift deployment by catching on the edge of a pocket. When fully opened, the blade is secured by a Tri-Ad Lock—an advanced evolution of the traditional Back Lock mechanism—with the lock design enhancing blade stability and offering increased resistance to heavy loads.

G10 laminate scales, jimping, and lanyard hole

The contoured handle features scales crafted from durable G10 laminate, offering exceptional resistance to mechanical impacts and harsh environmental conditions. Thanks to its nonslip texture, a firm and secure hold is maintained, even when hands are wet or dirty. For enhanced blade handling, jimping (notched texturing) is integrated on the spine of the handle at the thumb rest. A hole is positioned at the butt of the handle, allowing for the attachment of a lanyard for added security.

steel clip

Effortless daily carry is guaranteed by a durable steel clip configured in the tip-up position, making it easy to secure the knife to a belt or pocket edge. The clip is designed for mounting on either the right or left side.

CPM S35VN feature
CPM S35VN
CPM S35VN is a stainless powder steel developed by Crucible Industries in collaboration with Chris Reeve, used in premium knives. It is an evolution of the popular S30V steel, offering a better balance between wear resistance, stainlessness, and ease of machining. Carbon (approx. 1.4%) is responsible for high hardness, while chromium (approx. 14%) gives the steel very good corrosion resistance, and vanadium (approx. 3%) extends edge life and improves cutting aggression. After hardening, it reaches 58-61 HRC, combining edge durability with fracture resistance. The steel retains its sharpness for a long time and is easy to sharpen, commonly used in EDC, outdoor, tactical, and collector's knives.
Tri-Ad Lock feature
Tri-Ad Lock
Tri-Ad Lock is a lock developed by Cold Steel and Andrew Demko, considered one of the strongest systems in folding knives. Its key element is a stop pin, which takes the pressure from the blade and distributes it to the handle, protecting the lock from wear and overload. The mechanism is designed to self-adjust over time, which maintains the reliability of the lock even after prolonged use. In tests, it has proven resistant to loads of up to hundreds of pounds, confirming its durability.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.

Beautiful and menacing knife. Despite its substantial size, it's light and comfortable in the pocket. The Wave function works flawlessly. You can feel the value in this knife. My only complaint is that the clip was too tight, but placing a thicker washer under the clip for two days solved the problem.

You can feel the quality in the grip and the steel. Great purchase, just still a bit expensive at 650 PLN! Very menacing.

Excellent knife. I carry it every day along with another folder and there is no better package opener than this one, it's insanely sharp, has very good steel and appearance, which might give some people chills.
