The dagger is very sharp and well balanced, it fits securely in the hand. AUS8A steel performs well and the workmanship is solid. It works well in the field and as an EDC. I recommend it.
Cold Steel Counter Tac I AUS8A Dagger
A boot knife featuring a Full-Length Tang construction, meaning the blade tang extends the entire length of the handle. The Dagger-profile blade is double-edged and made of AUS-8A stainless steel. The black handle is made of Kray‑Ex with a non-slip texture. The set includes a Secure‑Ex sheath, which allows you to comfortably carry the knife on your belt or attached to other pieces of gear.
blade made of Japanese AUS-8A steel
The blade is made of Japanese-made AUS-8A stainless steel. This material is characterized by good edge retention, high corrosion resistance, and optimal toughness. Additionally, this steel is relatively easy to sharpen, even in field conditions.
Blade with a Dagger profile, Chisel Grind, stonewash finish
The symmetrical, double-edged blade with a Dagger profile is 127 mm long and 5 mm thick. A distinctive feature of the knife is the use of a Chisel Grind, which means that the grind is applied to only one side, while the other side of the blade remains flat. In the middle section of the blade, at the edges of the grind, a fuller has been added to reduce the knife’s weight and improve its balance. The blade is finished with the Stonewash method, which creates a matte texture that minimizes light reflections and increases scratch resistance.
Kray-Ex handle, Full Length Tang construction
The knife's handle is made of Kray-Ex plastic with a deep texture, which ensures a secure grip even with a dirty or wet hand. The knife features a Full Length Tang construction, which means that the blade tang extending into the handle reaches all the way to the end of the handle and is only slightly narrower than the handle itself. The double-sided cross guard prevents fingers from slipping onto the blade. The handle is equipped with a hole at its end, allowing a cord or lanyard to be threaded through it.
Secure-Ex system sheath with clip
The knife comes with a Secure-Ex sheath made of lightweight, durable material that can withstand harsh weather conditions. The sheath holds the knife securely in place thanks to a precisely fitted opening, which eliminates the risk of it accidentally falling out. It is equipped with a removable composite clip that allows for quick attachment to a belt or the top of high-top boots, while numerous holes and grommets enable multi-position attachment to various pieces of gear, allowing the user to customize how it is carried to suit their individual needs.

A blade with excellent penetrating properties and a fuller that reinforces the knife's construction. The handle resembles that of the Applegate-Fairbairn dagger, providing a secure grip, and the sheath allows for almost any attachment and quick drawing of the knife in a dangerous situation. I recommend it.

A compact EDC dagger, fits securely even in a wet hand. The blade has a sufficient length, profiled in a C shape to facilitate piercing. The blade profile makes it not easy to sharpen and the dagger was almost completely dull straight out of the box. It's good they didn't use harder steel.
-
An inexpensive and decently made dagger/boot dagger. It's comfortable to carry, the handle is very ergonomic and almost sticks to the hand. I was looking for an affordable little dagger for a long time and this one fully meets my needs.
-
A smaller version of a great dagger, this one is perfect for the neck, a must-have for camping. I recommend it.

Brilliant dagger, sharp like a good kebab on a Saturday morning. A must-have for Cold Steel fans. I recommend it.

A bit too small... workmanship: I remember it used to look much better unfortunately, uneven cutting edge. In this model, CS didn't do well, CS CT 1 is much better.
-
Great little dagger, small and handy, can even be hidden in the boot shaft! Amazing, perfect for me.
-
Very sharp and durable, quite small but big enough for my big hands.
-
Nice, small dagger, but with a fairly large sheath it's definitely uncomfortable to wear around the neck.
