Cold Steel Hand&Half Training Sword
A long, blunted training sword made entirely of durable polypropylene. This type of training weapon is often referred to as a waister (waster, wafter), a term derived from Old English. Training weapons for combat have existed from the late Bronze Age to the present day. The sword allows for fencing form training and sparring, while maintaining the realism of a genuine weapon.

The double-edged, blunt blade, 864 mm long, is made of polypropylene. In the center of the blade, there is a fuller extending along 2/3 of the blade's length on both sides, providing the balance and weight of a steel sword.

The sword's hilt is 254 mm long and is made of polypropylene. The long, straight cross guard protects the fencer's hand from the opponent's cuts and thrusts. The cross guard is mounted on the blade using a stabilizing rubber ring. The fact that the cross guard can be removed makes it easier to transport the sword. The grip is covered with a non-slip texture and features three circumferential ridges, which make it easier to hold the training sword. The pear-shaped, massive pommel counterbalances the blade. The length of the hilt allows the sword to be wielded with both hands.

I postponed this purchase for a long time, but I don't regret it. For me - and my grip is quite strong - the sword is a bit heavy. When training one-handed, you can feel it in your wrist. That's why I train with both hands. I was surprised by the practical size because, colloquially speaking, it's huge. Not recommended for children or teenagers. I'm planning to buy a smaller one for everyday training.
