Cold Steel Hand&Half Training Sword

Constructed entirely from durable polypropylene, this training sword features a long, blunt blade ideal for practice. Known as a waister (waster, wafter)—a term rooted in Old English—such practice weapons have been utilized from the late Bronze Age through to the present era for combat training. The sword allows for practical exercises in fencing forms as well as sparring, providing realistic handling akin to an actual weapon.

Double-edged and blunt Crafted from polypropylene, the blade measures 864 mm in length. A double-sided fuller runs along 2/3 of the blade's total length,, ensuring balanced handling and simulating the weight of a steel sword.

Polypropylene handle, removable long , round

The sword features a handle measuring 254 mm in length, crafted from polypropylene. Its extended, straight design shields the fencer’s hand against strikes and cuts during combat. Equipped with a cross guard secured by a stabilizing rubber ring, the construction allows the guard to be removed, simplifying transportation of the waister. The grip incorporates an anti-slip texture along with 3 circumferential protrusions to ensure a firm, secure hold on the training sword. A robust, pear-shaped pommel serves as a counterbalance to the blade. Generous handle length supports two-handed sword use. The elongated, straight guard provides effective protection for the fencer's hand from opponent’s cuts and strikes. A solid, pear-shaped pommel functions as a counterbalance for the blade.Handle dimensions accommodate a two-handed grip, enhancing control and versatility in training scenarios.

    I postponed this purchase for a long time, but I don't regret it. For me - and my grip is quite strong - the sword is a bit heavy. When training one-handed, you can feel it in your wrist. That's why I train with both hands. I was surprised by the practical size because, colloquially speaking, it's huge. Not recommended for children or teenagers. I'm planning to buy a smaller one for everyday training.
