Cold Steel Hawksbill Specter Folding Knife CPM 20CV - Black

EDC (Every Day Carry) folding knife equipped with a Hawkbill blade shape. The blade is crafted from 20CV stainless steel and finished with a black PVD coating. A secure Liner Lock mechanism keeps the blade firmly in place when open. Ergonomically designed handle scales are constructed from carbon fiber. For easy and discreet carry, a deep-carry clip is integrated for convenient attachment.

stainless steel CPM 20CV

Forged from premium 20CV steel and hardened to a robust 58–61 HRC, the blade offers outstanding toughness. Renowned for its superior corrosion resistance and remarkable edge retention, the steel also benefits from added vanadium and molybdenum, which significantly boost wear resistance and contribute to an extended service life.

Hawkbill blade, PVD coating

Featuring a Hawkbill blade profile, this knife boasts a 95 mm blade length and 3.8 mm thickness. The fine cutting edge is crafted with a Hollow Grind for optimal sharpness and long-lasting edge retention. A matte black PVD coating enhances its non-reflective finish and delivers superior resistance to corrosion.

Carbon fiber scales, titanium bolsters, steel clip

Handle scales crafted from carbon fiber offer exceptional strength with a lightweight profile. An ergonomically contoured shape combined with a non-slip texture provides a secure, stable grip. Structural integrity is enhanced by the addition of titanium bolsters, ensuring long-lasting durability. Jimping positioned along the spine at the thumb rest delivers increased blade control for precision cutting.

A flexible deep-carry clip attaches to the handle for convenient daily carry, enabling secure attachment to a pocket or belt edge.

Liner Lock, thumb stud

Equipped with a convenient thumb stud, the knife enables rapid and effortless one-handed blade deployment. A secure Liner Lock mechanism keeps the blade firmly locked in the open position, providing reliable safety during use.

CPM 20CV feature
CPM 20CV
CPM 20CV is a premium powder metallurgy tool steel with very good corrosion and wear resistance. It contains approximately 1.9% carbon, which allows for high hardness and edge sharpness. The high chromium content (2%) ensures stainless properties. Additionally, it contains: vanadium (4%), molybdenum (1%), tungsten (0.6%), silicon (0.9%), and manganese (0.3%). Thanks to powder technology, the steel has a very fine and homogeneous microstructure, which facilitates easier processing and uniform properties throughout the cross-section. After hardening, it achieves a hardness of 59-61 HRC and retains its sharpness for a long time, which makes it often used in premium knives, EDC, and tools requiring the highest durability.
Carbon Fiber feature
Carbon Fiber
Carbon fiber is a composite material that is exceptionally light and very strong, considered one of the most advanced materials used in knife manufacturing. It is made of thin carbon fibers embedded in epoxy resin, which are then pressed and hardened to form an extremely rigid and resistant structure. Used in knife handles, it provides high resistance to mechanical damage, is not affected by moisture or extreme temperatures, and is chemically inert and non-conductive. It is distinguished by its characteristic layered weave, which gives each handle a unique appearance, particularly valued in premium knives.
PVD - Physical Vapor Deposition feature
PVD - Physical Vapor Deposition
PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating is a modern technology for applying ultra-thin layers of metal in a vacuum, which significantly increases the durability of knives. Thanks to this, the blade becomes highly resistant to scratches, abrasion, and corrosion, while gaining a matte surface that reduces glare. This process allows for aesthetic finishes in various colors, from deep black to gold, which do not wear off like classic paint. As a result, the knife retains its great appearance and full functionality even with intensive use.
