The knife arrived factory-sharpened very well, its weight makes you feel a solid piece of steel in your hand, and the rubberized handle makes it fit excellently in the palm.
Cold Steel Leatherneck Tanto D2 Military Knife
Inspired by the legendary US Marines combat knife, originally crafted by manufacturers like Ka-Bar, this model offers a fixed blade with a robust full tang construction, perfectly suited for tactical and survival scenarios. Outfitted with a Tanto blade, manufactured from D2 tool steel and finished with a black powder coating, the knife excels in durability and corrosion resistance. The handle, made from Kray-Ex, provides a secure and comfortable grip during rugged use. Included in the package is a sheath utilizing the Secure-Ex system and equipped with a belt loop, allowing for easy and reliable carry.
The term Leatherneck is derived from a traditional nickname for American Marines, referring to the high leather collar worn by soldiers since 1776.
D2 tool steel
Crafted from D2 tool steel, the blade delivers outstanding wear resistance and excellent edge retention. Through a precision heat treatment process, the steel attains a hardness of 57-62 HRC, providing long-lasting durability and reliable cutting performance, even during demanding use.
Tanto profile blade, Black Powder coating
Equipped with a Tanto style blade, the knife offers a 178 mm long and 5 mm thick blade profile. A smooth cutting edge is achieved through a partial flat grind, highlighted by a robust tip where the spine’s full thickness extends almost entirely to the apex. Engineered for exceptional toughness, the design enables efficient execution of heavy-duty tasks. Enhanced with a Black Powder finish, the blade resists scratches, provides protection against corrosion, and prevents unwanted reflections.
Full Tang construction, ergonomic grip with Kray-Ex
Featuring a Full Tang construction, the knife’s steel tang extends throughout the entire length of the handle for maximum durability and stability. The handle scales are attached to the tang and crafted from the synthetic polymer Kray-Ex. Due to its ergonomic shape and non-slip texture, the grip delivers excellent control even when hands are wet or dirty. A steel cross guard prevents the hand from sliding onto the blade, while the steel pommel at the handle’s end is designed for use as an auxiliary field tool.
sheath in the Secure-Ex system
The knife comes with a sheath crafted using the Secure-Ex system, featuring a material that is lightweight, robust, and resistant to various weather conditions. Knife retention is ensured by a precision-molded inlet and a snap-fastened loop, effectively preventing accidental release. The loop facilitates belt attachment, while several holes and loops allow for versatile carry positions on a belt or integration with other gear.

Excellent quality knife with a full tang, better than the Ka-Bar. If I had to choose between the two, I'd recommend the CS Leatherneck Tanto. The handle is for larger hands, the steel has a wide tang in the handle, while the KB has a narrow one. Still a knife, but it can compete with a small machete. The blade shape and finishing are first-class. After unpacking, it needs a bit of sharpening. I recommend it to others; it's a good knife.

I've been using the Leatherneck for a few years. Nice military design. A big knife with plenty of power. It functions as a machete, a hatchet, and even, with some practice, as a kitchen knife. Nothing has loosened in it, nothing rattles, only the coating has worn off in places. Typical D2 steel. As far as I remember, I paid around 500 PLN for it. If I didn't have it, I would buy it during this current promotion.

Like most products from this company, it's in a class of its own. Out of the box, it could be sharper, but otherwise, no complaints. A solid tool at a reasonable price, I think it will last for years. I recommend it.
-
An excellently-made knife, very high-quality product. Brilliant military knife; in my opinion, it's better than the classic Kabar, even though the design is very similar—the steel used is better, the sheath is better, excellent protection against oxidation, and the more comfortable handle is really positive. I recommend others to confidently purchase this durable, heavy-duty knife made of strong materials.

The Cold Steel Leatherneck SF D2 military knife is an extremely durable and functional tool. The blade made of D2 steel provides excellent sharpness, wear resistance, and ease of sharpening. The solid G-10 handle guarantees a secure grip even in tough conditions, and the full tang construction ensures stability and durability. The knife features a military design and excels in extreme outdoor, survival, and law enforcement conditions. It is a reliable choice for special tasks.

I am satisfied, it makes a better impression than in the videos when you hold it in your hand. The guard is stiff with no play, because many people wrote and recorded that there was play. Mine is fine.
-
The knife just looks awesome, and the handle feels very nice—holds superbly. I try not to use it too heavily because I'm a bit afraid I could wear it out, it's my first knife costing this much but it fulfills its basic tasks.
-
One of the biggest disappointments in the knives section. It looks great, feels good in the hand, the price is very attractive. Yet after a few days of use, it turned out to be a very weak product. The paint on the blade comes off from the kydex sheath. But the worst is the quality of the steel. When opening a coconut—not steel but just a nut—the blade chipped in several places :D I'm afraid to think what would happen if I batoned domestic wood with this knife :D
-
Very positive impression; the knife meets my expectations both in appearance and workmanship. Scratches appeared on the blade just from drawing and inserting it into the sheath, but that's nothing to complain about. The only thing: the description says: "Manufacturer: Cold Steel, USA", but there's "Taiwan" inscribed on the blade... hmm

Brilliant military knife. Very durable and excellently made. I highly recommend it to everyone because it’s definitely worth buying; it handles every task well.
-
Got it in a great sale for under 400 PLN. Excellent knife, light but solid and well made. Another from this company in my collection. Lightning-fast delivery. As always, a great purchase.
-
The best military fighter knife I have ever seen. Very durable construction, really excellent craftsmanship, very durable blade coating.
-
A brilliant military knife, in my opinion better than the classic Ka-bar, even though the construction is very similar. Here, better steel is used, a better sheath, applied oxide, and a more comfortable handle.
-
A chunk of a knife. It can handle any, even the toughest, camp and forest work. Plus, it's a great treat for military fans because it's a typical military fighter.
