Cold Steel Republic Bushcraft Knife S35VN

Rugged survival-tactical knife featuring a Full Tang construction, where the tang extends through the entire length of the handle. Equipped with a Drop-Point blade crafted from CPM S35VN tool steel. The handle is constructed from micarta.

CPM S35VN powder steel

Precision-engineered from CPM S35VN powder steel, the blade is renowned for its exceptional corrosion resistance and outstanding edge durability. With proper heat treatment, a superior hardness of 58-60 HRC is achieved, enabling the blade to retain sharpness over extended use and deliver reliable performance under demanding everyday conditions.

PVD coating, flat grind, deep jimping

Featuring a Drop-Point blade measuring 127 mm in length and 3.9 mm in thickness, the knife boasts a flat grind that ensures outstanding cutting performance. The blade is treated with a black PVD coating to suppress reflections and enhance resistance to corrosion. On the spine, deep jimping offers improved grip and control while cutting. Additionally, a cross guard is incorporated to prevent hand slippage onto the blade.

micarta handle

Handle scales crafted from micarta offer a rugged, non-slip texture that guarantees a firm hold in any condition. A lanyard hole positioned at the end of the handle allows for easy attachment, safeguarding the tool against accidental loss.

leather sheath

A leather sheath is included in the set, ensuring both secure storage and ease of transport for the knife.

CPM S35VN feature
CPM S35VN
CPM S35VN is a stainless powder steel developed by Crucible Industries in collaboration with Chris Reeve, used in premium knives. It is an evolution of the popular S30V steel, offering a better balance between wear resistance, stainlessness, and ease of machining. Carbon (approx. 1.4%) is responsible for high hardness, while chromium (approx. 14%) gives the steel very good corrosion resistance, and vanadium (approx. 3%) extends edge life and improves cutting aggression. After hardening, it reaches 58-61 HRC, combining edge durability with fracture resistance. The steel retains its sharpness for a long time and is easy to sharpen, commonly used in EDC, outdoor, tactical, and collector's knives.
Micarta feature
Micarta
Micarta is a composite material made of layers of fabric (including canvas, linen, and paper) soaked in resin and pressed under high pressure and temperature. It is characterized by high mechanical strength, resistance to impact, abrasion, and changing weather conditions, as well as dimensional stability, which makes it ideal for knife handles. The surface of Micarta provides a secure grip and can be finished smooth or left with a slight texture to improve control over the tool. The material does not conduct heat or electricity, tolerates contact with moisture well, and acquires a characteristic patina over time, emphasizing the individual style of the knife. Thanks to its combination of durability, environmental resistance, and unique appearance, Micarta is widely used in EDC, outdoor, and collector's knives.
PVD - Physical Vapor Deposition feature
PVD - Physical Vapor Deposition
PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating is a modern technology for applying ultra-thin layers of metal in a vacuum, which significantly increases the durability of knives. Thanks to this, the blade becomes highly resistant to scratches, abrasion, and corrosion, while gaining a matte surface that reduces glare. This process allows for aesthetic finishes in various colors, from deep black to gold, which do not wear off like classic paint. As a result, the knife retains its great appearance and full functionality even with intensive use.

High precision workmanship, it's nice to see knives of this brand made in the USA instead of Asia. Practical design, top materials. What more could you want. I recommend it.
