Cold Steel Verdict Spear-Point 4116SS Folding Knife - FDE

Folding knife crafted for both everyday carry (EDC) and tactical use. Outfitted with a blade featuring a Spear-Point profile, constructed from 4116SS stainless steel, renowned for its outstanding resistance to corrosion. The plain edge blade boasts a finish achieved through the Stonewash technique. An FDE handle, made of G10 laminate with a textured, non-slip surface, ensures a secure grip. Deployment of the blade is facilitated by a double-sided thumb stud, while the Tri-Ad Lock mechanism provides enhanced operational safety.

4116SS stainless steel

Forged from robust 4116SS stainless steel, the blade boasts exceptional resistance to corrosion, easy sharpening, and outstanding edge retention. Upon hardening, the blade achieves a hardness level of 55-57 HRC.

spear-point blade with stonewash finish

Equipped with a Spear-Point profile, the blade measures 78 mm in length and 2.7 mm in thickness. A smooth cutting edge with a flat grind offers optimal slicing capability. The blade's geometry delivers excellent cutting performance and maintains solid durability, enabling the knife to handle demanding tasks. Finished using the Stonewash method, the blade obtains a matte surface that minimizes glare and enhances resistance to scratches.

GFN laminate scales, steel clip

Ergonomically shaped handle scales are crafted from GFN laminate, a glass-fiber reinforced nylon known for its outstanding resistance to mechanical wear and external influences. A non-slip surface texture delivers a firm and reliable grip during operation. Everyday carry convenience is enhanced by a spring-loaded clip affixed to the handle, allowing secure attachment to a belt or pocket. Designed to accommodate both right- and left-handed users, the clip is reversible. A lanyard hole at the handle’s end offers the option to attach a safety cord or lanyard.

Tri-Ad Lock, double-sided thumb stud

Equipped with the Tri-Ad Lock system, recognized as one of the most robust locking mechanisms available for folding knives. This advanced lock utilizes a stop pin that absorbs the blade’s force, channeling the pressure into the handle to safeguard against wear. Over time, the mechanism self-adjusts, continually ensuring dependable lock performance. The blade is fitted with a double-sided thumb stud for fast, one-handed deployment.

4116SS feature
4116SS
4116SS steel is the commercial name for high-quality 1.4116 stainless steel from the German DIN group, widely used in kitchen knives and medical tools. The carbon content (0.45-0.55%) ensures good hardness and edge durability, while chromium (14-15%) guarantees high resistance to corrosion and oxidation. The steel also contains molybdenum (up to 0.6%), vanadium (up to 0.2%), manganese (up to 1%), silicon (up to 1%), and a small amount of nickel (up to 1%). It achieves a hardness of 55-57 HRC after appropriate heat treatment, which allows for knives with good cutting properties, easy maintenance, and corrosion resistance.
Tri-Ad Lock feature
Tri-Ad Lock
Tri-Ad Lock is a lock developed by Cold Steel and Andrew Demko, considered one of the strongest systems in folding knives. Its key element is a stop pin, which takes the pressure from the blade and distributes it to the handle, protecting the lock from wear and overload. The mechanism is designed to self-adjust over time, which maintains the reliability of the lock even after prolonged use. In tests, it has proven resistant to loads of up to hundreds of pounds, confirming its durability.
Stonewash feature
Stonewash
Stonewash is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel in a drum filled with stones, ceramic abrasives, or beads. The impact of the material creates a characteristic, irregular pattern with micro-scratches, giving the effect of a matte, slightly “aged” surface with a raw, practical appearance. The finish gives the knife an aesthetic look and masks minor scratches and marks that occur during use, keeping the blade looking like new for longer. The matte texture reduces light reflections, which is valued in tactical and outdoor knives, and the micro-scratches can further reduce friction during cutting. Due to its durability, discreet appearance, and ease of maintenance, stonewash is popular in EDC, field, and tactical knives.
GFN - Glass Filled Nylon feature
GFN - Glass Filled Nylon

GFN (Glass Filled Nylon) is a nylon reinforced with glass fiber, offering low weight, high durability, and resistance to moisture and many chemicals. The material performs exceptionally well in demanding conditions, maintaining its strength even under intensive use. GFN surfaces may be completely smooth or textured to improve grip, providing better control and overall ergonomics. The robustness of GFN handles has made this material a standard in the production of EDC (Everyday Carry) knives as well as lightweight tactical designs.
