A professional, robust O Katana sword designed for practicing cutting techniques—Tameshigiri. Crafted in accordance with traditional methods using authentic materials such as steel, bronze, wood, stingray skin, and fabric, it is built to meet the highest expectations. The Japanese prefix "O" signifies a larger or longer object, so the O Katana denotes oversized, powerful swords originally made for exceptionally tall warriors.
The blade features expertly hardened 1055 spring steel and is sharpened with a zero-grind, meaning the transition between the flats and cutting edge is seamless. Exceptionally sharp, the sword can slice through training mats with ease.
The handle consists of wood, wrapped with genuine Same (stingray skin - Raja). Decorative elements such as the Tsuba (guard), Kashira (pommel cap), and Menuki (ornamental detail beneath the wrap) are produced as metal castings. The scabbard—Saya—is crafted from wood and coated with enamel to resemble traditional Japanese lacquer.
