The downside is the need for regular calibration, but with this type of equipment, it's completely normal.

So far it has not disappointed me—small, cheap, and fast in operation. In the morning it saves the situation—you know, to drive or not to drive? Sometimes an hour at home can make quite a difference. I think everyone should have such a compact device at home. Included is a convenient case for the breathalyzer and two mouthpieces.
