The ES 66C air rifle utilizes compressed carbon dioxide as its power source. Constructed from a combination of metal and plastic, the bolt, receiver, hammer, functional decocker, and minor parts are crafted from metal, while the grip panels are made of plastic.
Operation is driven by a 12 g CO2 capsule inserted into the magazine. Alongside the CO2 cartridge, the magazine accommodates 14 BBs 4.5 mm. The air rifle’s efficient gas system delivers around 50 shots per CO2 capsule, with an initial velocity of 140 m/s.
The trigger mechanism supports a SA/DA system (single action/double action), allowing shots to be fired with the hammer already cocked or via "self-cocking". A decocking lever for the hammer (decocker) is present on both sides of the pistol for user convenience.
Secure transport is provided by a polymer case lined internally with protective foam. The case fastens with two latches, and features holes for a padlock behind each latch for additional security against unauthorized opening.
