Secured with a durable Velcro closure running the full length, the protectors attach to footwear via a metal hook that grips the shoelace. An adjustable strap constructed from hypalon, a material renowned for exceptional abrasion and weather resistance, ensures a snug fit.
Providing outstanding protection for pants against dirt, moisture, and damage, the gaiters shield the legs from knee to ankle, including the upper section of boots. Such coverage prevents debris from penetrating boots or footwear.

Gaiters are a very useful thing for hiking, and these particular ones from Helikon have some cool improvements. They protect the lower part of the pants and the boot's upper from mud, dirt, snow, and with waterproof boots, they create a sort of 'rubber boot' effect ; ) These ones fasten with a wide, durable Velcro. This solution has its pros and cons, but it's definitely less prone to failure. The hook for the shoelace is made of plastic; a metal hook would be more likely to damage the laces. The adjustment is done with a wide strap and a drawstring. These gaiters are good equipment.
