No problem producing sparks. The biggest advantage is the length – but not the entire surface is usable – the lanyard is at such a height that it always gets in the way and effectively shortens the usable length of the fire starter (even if you get rid of it, the hole remains).

I am disappointed with the Hultafors fire starter. During use, it turned out to be exceptionally fragile. It fell from a small height onto a stone and broke at the spot where the mounting is drilled out. This type of equipment should be more durable, especially considering it is intended for use in tough outdoor conditions. Unfortunately, the Hultafors fire starter did not meet my expectations for durability and reliability. I do not recommend this product to anyone looking for a robust and durable tool for starting fires.
