Javel Aqua Water Purification Tablets - 20 pcs.

Soluble chlorine tablets formulated for disinfecting water sourced from uncertain or potentially unsafe locations. Efficiently destroy microorganisms present in the water that can lead to gastrointestinal disturbances. The tablets offer high efficacy, minimal weight, portability, and an extended shelf life. Indispensable for travel, expeditions to tropical regions, and training in challenging environments.

Instructions for use

To disinfect water, simply add 1 tablet to 1 liter of water and allow 30 minutes for action. For best results, pre-filter the water, particularly if the source is questionable. After 30 minutes, the water becomes safe for drinking. In cases where contamination by amoeba (Entamoeba histolytica) is suspected, use 2 tablets per 1 liter of water and wait for 60 minutes.

The active component NaDCC is endorsed by WHO in guidelines for safe drinking water.

European standards

Compliant with European EN standards (12931, 12933), JAVEL Aqua serves as a chemical water purification agent designed for use during epidemiological emergencies such as cholera, typhoid, dysentery, and gastrointestinal infections. Delivers effective purification against bacteria, including Legionella, and is formulated for comprehensive water disinfection.

Review summary

Automatically prepared based on reviews

Javel Aqua tablets are widely seen as an effective and highly practical way to treat water from uncertain sources during camping, trekking, travel, and emergency situations. Users praise their very low weight, compact size, ease of use, long shelf life, and affordable price, so many consider them an essential part of a backpack, first-aid kit, or backup alongside a water filter. Reviews indicate reliable protection against microorganisms and no stomach issues after use. The most common drawback is the noticeable chlorine or pool-like taste and the need to wait after adding the tablet, but most reviewers accept this as a reasonable trade-off for safer drinking water. Some also note that the tablets work best as an emergency option or as a complement to mechanical filtration rather than a standalone solution for chemical contamination.

Tablets useful for every occasion, not just bushcraft or survival in swamps. It's worth taking them on ordinary trips, for example to Egypt or other countries where you may not tolerate tap water. And, of course, they're an essential part of the RCB backpack equipment.

In my opinion, this is a very good product for treating river water while camping. The only minor drawback is the taste, so it is worth bringing electrolytes with you to improve it.

The tablets are very easy to use and provide effective protection in situations where the cleanliness of the available water is in doubt. The compact packaging and shelf life are a big plus. A good and reliable product for all outdoor trips.

I used these tablets in truly extreme conditions, and so far they have worked very well. The treated water did not cause me any stomach problems, which is the most important thing in such conditions. The tablets are small, easy to carry with you, and they take up practically no space. If someone needs a simple emergency solution for water purification, I can confidently recommend them.

I have a filter or water purifier, but I prefer to take extra precautions and also use purification tablets, especially when I draw water from very questionable sources. The cost is affordable, so it is good to keep a few on hand just in case.

The tablets ended up in my emergency backpack. Used once for testing. I didn't get sick so I assume they work. The water had a specific taste, but it wasn't off-putting. Plus points for a long shelf life.

I wanted to test this product out of curiosity. I used the water purification tablets with water from an unknown source during a three-day mountain trip. The water was heavily contaminated, but the tablets did their job. They leave a slight taste of chlorine, but it's not particularly bothersome. The product is very lightweight, so it's good to have it with you on such trips.

At this price, Javel tablets are a must-have backup for your backpack. They are lightweight, easy to use, and really do the job when it comes to purifying water. Long shelf life and compact size are big advantages. The only downside is a slightly chlorinated aftertaste, but in an emergency, that doesn't matter.

Tablets bought as an alternative to a water filter. Not used yet. Long expiration date. Standard action, useful for obtaining water in the field. They are there and waiting. I recommend them.
