The knife arrived sharp and centered, with a slight play in the lock when closed. After a few days, the blade centering was lost and it can't be adjusted again in any way (even by adjusting the pivot screw). Of course, the paint on the painted clip wears off. It turns out that under the clip, which is factory mounted on the right side, a piece of the G10 handle structure is ground down. If someone wants the clip on the left side, they will have a right handle scale with a visible defect in the structure. This is my first and last Kershaw. Too many flaws for the price. Much cheaper knives from Chinese brands (QSP, Civivi, Bestechman) are far superior in build quality.

Kershaw is an American knife brand, founded in 1974 by Pete Kershaw in Oregon, which from the very beginning has focused on the highest quality and practical solutions for hunters, anglers, and everyday users. In 1977, the company was acquired by the Japanese Kai Group, allowing it to combine American innovation with Japanese craftsmanship. In 1998, Kershaw revolutionized the market by introducing the SpeedSafe assisted opening mechanism, and in the following years won prestigious Blade Show awards for models such as the Tyrade with Composite Blade technology combining two different types of steel. The brand is also known for its collaboration with renowned knifemakers, including Ken Onion, Ernest Emerson, and Rick Hinderer, which has resulted in iconic models such as the Leek and Cryo.

Well-made, aesthetically pleasing, well-fitted, with bearings, and no play when the blade is open. However, when the knife is closed, there is a slight play in the blade in the opening direction. Basically, it doesn't interfere in any significant way, but if someone is sensitive to such things, they might want to think twice. Nice non-slip texture on the G10 scales. Of course, the black paint on the clip and the lock studs comes off. Soon the whole aesthetic of the knife will be ruined by a worn clip and lock handles.

Kershaw is back in the game! Back in great style. The Heist is a budget but excellent alternative to the Bugout and the Deka. The craftsmanship and fit are top-notch. You won't buy anything better at this price! I recommend it!
