Kershaw

Militaria.pl is a distributor of Kershaw.

Kershaw is an American knife brand, founded in 1974 by Pete Kershaw in Oregon, which from the very beginning has focused on the highest quality and practical solutions for hunters, anglers, and everyday users. In 1977, the company was acquired by the Japanese Kai Group, allowing it to combine American innovation with Japanese craftsmanship. In 1998, Kershaw revolutionized the market by introducing the SpeedSafe assisted opening mechanism, and in the following years won prestigious Blade Show awards for models such as the Tyrade with Composite Blade technology combining two different types of steel. The brand is also known for its collaboration with renowned knifemakers, including Ken Onion, Ernest Emerson, and Rick Hinderer, which has resulted in iconic models such as the Leek and Cryo.

I agree with the opinions of others—you can eat with it, but: 1. The spoon is very shallow and picks up little liquid (e.g. soup); 2. The fork's inner tines are longer than the outer ones. This spherical shape means the outer tines don't skewer food; 3. The fork tines narrow towards the ends, which means food falls off the fork back onto the plate. You have to quickly tilt the fork so gravity doesn't pull the food off, which is difficult for such a small item (your hand ends up in your food). The tines are also short; 4. Eating directly from a thermos (the wide, low kind) is perhaps the most annoying thing about this product. It's just really short. You have to tilt the thermos so the contents come near the edge. Of course, your hand blocks the view, etc. So if you like to eat directly from a soup thermos, you may have to change your habits here; 5. The construction is from thick sheet metal, very nicely polished at the edges. Unfortunately, to the extent (no sharpness) that you have to use a knife as well to cut things you'd normally eat only with a fork (e.g. fried dumplings with a tough skin). Using two utensils at a campsite without a table is inconvenient. Of course, there are pros: 1. Compactness; 2. Stiffness—no springiness (food doesn't jump off the plate); 3. Carabiner. Yes, I know I'm nitpicking because you can solve this and replace that. The problem is, I don't want to adapt—I want the product, as the customer, to be adapted to me. In summary, you can eat with it and the size is good, for example, for hiking where every gram and millimeter matters, but... This tool could be made better. So although I like the Kershaw brand, here I can only give 2 stars.

Small, handy, the carabiner function does a great job and the possibility of keeping it always with you means you always have it on hand and it immediately lowers the chances of losing it by some miracle during outdoor activities.

Handy and small in size. The advantage is that it fits in any pouch :) It will definitely be useful in 'emergency' situations.

This is exactly what I was missing from my everyday kit, finally I don't have to take plastic cutlery with me to town or eat with my fingers. I recommend it.

Hello! I recommend this neat, small essential tool—spoon and fork—which doesn't take up much space, can be put into a cup and doesn't stick out above the rim. Good workmanship, feels nice to hold in the hand. I don't know how it will resist rust with time, we'll see, but I recommend.
