LKW Hundur Micarta Fixed Blade Knife by Radosław Łęgowik

Medium-sized durable knife with a Full Tang construction. The blade with a Drop-Point profile is made from O2 Bohler K720 steel, characterized by ease of sharpening, good edge retention, and high corrosion resistance. It performs well as a knife for bushcraft expeditions, setting up camp, or preparing meals in the wild. The design and craftsmanship of the presented model are the work of Polish knifemaker Radosław Łęgowik.

Polish design

Radosław Łęgowik is a Polish knife maker and founder of the LKW - Libra Knife Works brand. Since 2007, he has been designing and handcrafting knives based on his own patterns - each piece is created in his workshop with full control over the process, including hardening and heat treatment. The range includes both tactically styled modern knives and fully functional survival knives.

O2 Bohler K720 tool steel

The knife is made from high-carbon O2 Bohler K720 tool steel hardened to a hardness of 59 HRC. The material used, combined with precise heat treatment, is characterized by high durability, resistance to cracking, and good edge retention. Additionally, this steel is easy to sharpen, even in the field, which is particularly important for an outdoor and bushcraft knife.

Drop-Point profile, flat grind, jimping

The blade with a length of 108 mm and a thickness of 4.4 mm has a Drop-Point shape with a prominently defined belly, enhancing the tool's efficiency during cutting. The edge is finished with a flat grind reaching halfway up the blade height. A false edge on the upper part of the blade improves piercing capabilities and forms a sharp tip allowing for tasks requiring high precision.

On the spine, at the thumb rest area, there is jimping (notching) to facilitate blade control during cutting. The blade surface is finished with the Stonewash method, making the blade more matte and less prone to visible scratches from use.

Micarta handle, cross guard, lanyard hole

The ergonomically shaped handle from Micarta, a durable and waterproof material based on epoxy resin, ensures a firm and secure grip in all conditions. The handle is also equipped with a cross guard to prevent hand slippage onto the blade during operation. The rear part of the handle includes a lanyard hole. In the rear part, the tang of the knife protrudes beyond the handle scales, allowing it to serve as an emergency glass breaker and an additional field tool.

rigid Kydex sheath, belt loop

The set includes a rigid sheath made from lightweight and damage-resistant Kydex material. The holes and pass-throughs on each side of the sheath enable multi-position attachment to gear. On the back of the sheath, a belt loop is placed for mounting on a belt.

O2 feature
O2
O2 is a medium carbon tool steel (approximately 0.9%) characterized by good hardness, abrasion resistance, and strength. Its carbon content ensures high hardness in the range of 58-60 HRC after appropriate heat treatment, which allows for a durable cutting edge. This steel also contains small amounts of manganese (0.3%) and silicon (0.2%), which improves its hardenability and structural stability. O2 is relatively easy to machine, making it a popular choice for the manufacture of cutting tools, industrial knives, files, and cutting tools. It is susceptible to corrosion and therefore requires proper maintenance and protection against rust. Due to its abrasive properties and hardness, O2 steel is mainly used in work tools that require wear resistance.
Kydex feature
Kydex
Kydex is a thermoplastic, durable material commonly used in the production of knife sheaths. It is resistant to impact, scratches, and changing weather conditions, and has very low moisture absorption. The sheaths are molded directly onto the knife, which guarantees a perfect fit, high durability, and complete safety—the blade remains securely in place even during dynamic movements. Due to its durability and customization options, Kydex has gained popularity in the tactical and survival industries. Sheaths are often equipped with additional mounting holes with metal eyelets, which increase their durability and allow for easy attachment of buckles, clips, or loops to a belt or harness.
Stonewash feature
Stonewash
Stonewash is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel in a drum filled with stones, ceramic abrasives, or beads. The impact of the material creates a characteristic, irregular pattern with micro-scratches, giving the effect of a matte, slightly “aged” surface with a raw, practical appearance. The finish gives the knife an aesthetic look and masks minor scratches and marks that occur during use, keeping the blade looking like new for longer. The matte texture reduces light reflections, which is valued in tactical and outdoor knives, and the micro-scratches can further reduce friction during cutting. Due to its durability, discreet appearance, and ease of maintenance, stonewash is popular in EDC, field, and tactical knives.
Micarta feature
Micarta
Micarta is a composite material made of layers of fabric (including canvas, linen, and paper) soaked in resin and pressed under high pressure and temperature. It is characterized by high mechanical strength, resistance to impact, abrasion, and changing weather conditions, as well as dimensional stability, which makes it ideal for knife handles. The surface of Micarta provides a secure grip and can be finished smooth or left with a slight texture to improve control over the tool. The material does not conduct heat or electricity, tolerates contact with moisture well, and acquires a characteristic patina over time, emphasizing the individual style of the knife. Thanks to its combination of durability, environmental resistance, and unique appearance, Micarta is widely used in EDC, outdoor, and collector's knives.

The knife is well balanced. The weight of the blade itself also gives a good impression. The handle feels nice in the hand and has a pleasant 'new' scent. Visually, it's also awesome :D. Works well in field conditions. Cheers

The LKW Hundur Micarta knife is a beautiful medium-sized fixed blade. Made with the utmost care and incredible craftsmanship... the photos in the listing don't fully show its functionality or beauty. If it’s still available, I highly recommend it!
