The designation MM-14 stands for маскувальний малюнок (maskuvalʹnyy malyunok = camouflage pattern) along with the year 2014, which marks its official adoption. The design draws inspiration from the American UCP, yet the colors are specifically selected to match natural tones found throughout Ukraine. The implementation of MM-14 was a key part of the Ukrainian military’s modernization, reflecting a move away from Soviet-style patterns. Among enthusiasts, MM14 is also referred to as Ukrainian Pixel Camo or Ukrainian Digital Camo.
