MultiCam is a contemporary camouflage pattern introduced in 2002 by the American firm Crye Precision, in partnership with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) as part of the Objective Force Warrior initiative. Designed to serve as a versatile camouflage solution, MultiCam offers effectiveness across diverse environments and terrain types. Incorporating seven distinct colors, the pattern features smooth gradient transitions among green, brown, and beige tones. Such composition enables adaptive blending, mirroring shades of green within wooded landscapes or shifting to browns and beiges across arid or desert regions. In Central and Eastern Europe, MultiCam demonstrates particular efficiency during the autumn months and amidst dry vegetation. The pattern has achieved global recognition, seeing widespread use by military forces and special operations units. In 2010, the U.S. Army officially adopted MultiCam for troops deployed to Afghanistan, replacing the former Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP). Civilian accessibility has also contributed to its popularity among military hobbyists and airsoft enthusiasts.
