This machete should be called Predator, Brush Cutter, or something like that. The length of the blade and its weight (which is a slight disadvantage) mean you can plow through thickets and bushes like a shredder! Functionally, it also works for small trunks. The added wrist cord is great. The sheath has two eyelets and a Velcro closure. You can quickly and securely sheathe and unsheathe the machete. Unfortunately... the handle. It's not bad, but not great either. Because the blade is quite long and heavy, the center of gravity sits far forward, plus the handle is rather thin, so with strong swings, it slips slightly from your hand. The handle should be larger. Ah! This is another product from Gerber, and I hope in 2-3 years the top layer of the handle won't peel off. On the plus side, the handle is attached with screws so it can be replaced. I have two machetes: this one and the Boker Magnum Kukri. If the Boker is a 4+, I'd give this one a 5-.
A machete featuring a Full Tang design with the blade tang running the entire length of the handle. Forged from shatter-resistant 1050 high-carbon steel, the blade is finished with a black, anti-corrosive powder coating. The low-profile flat grind provides exceptional edge durability while allowing for straightforward sharpening.
The handle, crafted from plastic and finished with Gator Grip texturing, ensures an ergonomic, comfortable grip. A dedicated finger groove prevents accidental slipping onto the blade. The non-slip surface guarantees secure handling, even in wet environments.
A hole at the rear of the handle accommodates a safety cord to prevent accidental loss.
Supplied with a durable nylon sheath for safe storage and transport.

Large, yet light and comfortable to use. For clearing brush or preparing a campsite, this is an indispensable tool. The handle is comfortable, and the steel stays sharp for a long time. I recommend it.
