Merrell Speed Strike 2 MID Leather Waterproof Shoes - Drab I bought the shoes on 22.12.2025, they were good, well-fitted, soft (43.5), but I had to exchange them for size 44 because when using merino wool socks, that's the size I needed—half a size bigger. Today is 02.02.2026, so they were tested during the harshest frosts in Poznań. In normal use, such as walking, standing, walking again, etc., the shoes performed excellently, thermal comfort was optimal with a slight edge towards warmth. Then, standing statically on icy cobblestones—the classic standing, for about 30-40 minutes. After this time, I started to feel the first slight symptoms of a mild chill, which increased over time, at around 60-70 minutes. After about 100-150 meters of brisk walking, thermal comfort returned to normal. After taking off the shoes at home, my foot was dry, the merino wool sock was slightly damp, and the inside of the shoe was slightly moist. After removing the insole and loosening the laces, the shoes were dry and ready for further walking in about 2 hours. This test of mine is subjective as I'm not familiar with other tests. I tested from 26.01 to 02.02.2026 for about 6-8 hours, early mornings and late afternoons, sometimes at night, without sunlight. The snow test up to the ankle (walking, standing) was passed, that's it. I recommend them. Of course, you have to remember to clean and, if necessary, waterproof them.
