Woodland, also referred to as U.S. Woodland or M81, represents a classic camouflage design that was introduced to the US Armed Forces in the early 1980s, deriving from the earlier ERDL camouflage. For more than twenty years, it served as the standard-issue pattern for the US military, remaining in use until the end of the first decade of the 21st century. Distinguished by its large, irregular shapes in hues of green, brown, beige, and black, the pattern ensures effective concealment and disruption properties, particularly within forested environments. Owing to its proven effectiveness and worldwide recognition, numerous derivatives have been developed, now featured in over sixty military uniforms across the globe. The iconic pattern has also made a substantial impact on popular culture, evolving from military environments into mainstream fashion.
