The mattress is thin, but very compact. If you don't distribute your body weight, you're basically sitting on the ground even with the mattress fully inflated. Inflation works great, at first it's fastest with your breath, but without the included pump you can't inflate it completely; the pump is very suitable for this, and the air collection "technology" using the bag is really interesting. The mattress sags after a few hours. I had to reinflate it about 2-3 times during the night; I don't think it's really a flaw, seems like these mattresses are like that. And the pillow seems to be a must-have—without it, you'd have to improvise and put something extra under your head.
