Njord Sif Damask Seax knife

Fixed-blade knife featuring Hidden Tang construction. The blade follows the Wharncliffe profile, commonly associated with Viking knives (Seax), and is crafted from durable, damage-resistant Damascus steel, showcasing a distinctive pattern derived from forging together multiple layers of 1095 and 15N20 steel. A high primary grind paired with a low secondary bevel has been applied to the blade. The traditional rosewood handle with an oval shape and two brass end plates offers a timeless aesthetic along with a secure and comfortable grip.

Featuring a durable Wharncliffe profile blade, the knife is crafted from damascus steel (pattern welded), which is composed of multiple layers of high-carbon spring steel 1095 and carbon steel 15N20. Renowned for its abrasion and chipping resistance as well as ease of sharpening, this steel provides an optimal balance for field use. The combination of a high grind and a lower secondary bevel ensures smooth slicing while maintaining excellent edge strength. Jimping along the spine offers secure thumb placement and enhanced control, especially in wet environments. A rugged, forged appearance is highlighted by visible forging marks (brut de forge).

Featuring an oval-shaped Hidden Tang handle crafted from rosewood and finished with two brass buttplates, the construction is safeguarded against moisture using a blend of beeswax and linseed oil.

A durable brown leather sheath featuring three belt loops ensures secure and convenient knife carry, easily attaching to your belt. The flexibility to position it vertically or horizontally echoes the design of historical Seax knife sheaths.
