Njord Sigurd Seax knife

Knife featuring a fixed head and Hidden Tang construction. The blade showcases a Wharncliffe profile, characteristic of Viking knives (Seax), and is crafted from robust, damage-resistant carbon steel. A high primary grind and a low secondary bevel define the blade geometry. The handle, traditionally oval and made from rosewood with two brass buttplates, offers both a timeless appearance and a secure, comfortable grip.

Outfitted with a sturdy Wharncliffe profile blade, the knife utilizes high-carbon steel known for its abrasion and chipping resistance. A high grind paired with a lower secondary bevel allows for efficient, smooth slicing while providing excellent cutting edge durability. Notches along the spine (jimping) offer thumb stability during use in wet environments. Its raw aesthetic is highlighted by visible forging marks (brut de forge).

Featuring an oval Hidden Tang handle crafted from rosewood and reinforced with two brass bolsters, the construction is sealed against moisture with a protective blend of beeswax and linseed oil.

A sturdy scabbard crafted from brown leather and fitted with three belt loops ensures secure transport of the knife and easy attachment to your belt. The design provides the flexibility to carry the knife either vertically or horizontally, echoing the traditional carrying style of historic Seax knife sheaths.
