Cool little knife for a start. Easy to open, nice lock, sharp. The orange color is really great because it's hard to lose in the forest. Perfect for sharpening sticks and learning knife safety. My son is very satisfied.
Opinel My First Knife No.7 INOX Folding Knife - Blue
A compact, ultra-light folding knife equipped with an 8-centimeter folding blade, a hardwood handle, and a robust Virobloc locking mechanism. Designed specifically for younger users, the My First Knife series offers added safety and ease of use.
INOX stainless steel, Clip-Point profile blade
The blade features a Clip-Point profile, constructed from INOX stainless steel and finished with a semi-gloss polish. Precision-crafted with a flat-full grind approaching a zero-grind, the grind geometry combined with the blade’s thickness ensures superior cutting performance. For enhanced operational safety, the tip is deliberately rounded to prevent accidental blade penetration.
Virobloc lock
The knife can be opened using the nail nick on the blade. Once deployed, the blade is secured by the Virobloc lock, a patented mechanism from 1955. The steel ring is situated on the handle at the level of the blade’s pivot, and after opening, must be rotated to cover the blade slot, ensuring the blade remains fixed in place. When folded, the ring is turned in the opposite direction to prevent accidental opening.
Wooden handle
Featuring a handle crafted from robust beech wood, the knife ensures durability in demanding conditions. The ergonomically shaped grip guarantees a firm and reliable hold, while its design allows for easy customization, including options like drilling a hole for lanyards, as well as carving or painting for personalization.

Militaria.pl is a premium dealer of Opinel.
Opinel is a French knife brand whose history dates back to 1890 in Savoy. The founder, Joseph Opinel, created the first folding knife, No. 08, which quickly became a symbol of everyday use thanks to its simplicity and functionality. In 1955, the Virobloc locking system was introduced, later modernized, which is still the hallmark of the brand today. In 1985, Opinel was recognized by the Victoria and Albert Museum as one of the 100 best-designed objects in the world, and the brand's knives also found their way into the MoMA collection in New York. Production takes place in Chambery, with an emphasis on quality and ecology - the wood comes from French forests and the waste is used to heat the factory. Among the famous users was Pablo Picasso, who used Opinel for carving, and the knives themselves have become a symbol of simplicity, durability, and the French lifestyle.

My five-year-old got it as his first tool for working in the forest. He is delighted, and mom also feels safe knowing he isn't using a machete :) For this price, it's an excellent tool that can be replaced with a more serious one after some time.

Bought for the little one, but it turned out that the cutout on the blade isn't that friendly for small hands. The lock also isn't a great solution and she often forgets about it. For now, it's fine for playing in the forest, but look around, maybe you'll find something better.

The perfect small knife for trips abroad where knives aren’t really legal; this model doesn’t have a sharp tip, so you don’t have problems with the police like you would with a knife that has a sharp tip.
-
Probably the only such knife on the market, folding with a round tip, which is its most important advantage. I always wanted this kind, because it's indispensable on trips where a sharp tip is not suitable for spreading, for jars, or soft delicate foods.

Great little knife for a child. Today was my first time hiking in the mountains and playing with sticks along the way made the whole trip a fantastic memory for the kids. The knife is very nicely made and 100% from natural materials (no plastic). I recommend it, and I'm ordering a second for my other child.

Another Opinel for my collection, and I bought it because I needed a pocketknife that I could use to scoop out the entire contents of a can, which is very difficult with those sharp-tipped ones. This is a specialized knife for canned foods.

Great knife, my daughter is happy because she got her first little knife. Sharp but still safe for a child.

Very sharp, well made. My son is satisfied.

Great quality, my nephew is happy. I recommend it.

Perfect for my 8-year-old son when he became its user it serves to this day.
-
Knife recommended for young users. In my case purchased for travel use. Perfect for spreading or safe use instead of a spoon with products of solid consistency. Perfect for cutting, safe tip even for an adult, considering all the 'razors' in our kits.

I bought it for collecting purposes, but I must admit it's great!

I chose it as my daughter's (7 years old) first knife. It's really sharp, we still use it in the kitchen, I haven't even sharpened it yet and it still does the job (1 year).
