Today I picked up the knife from the parcel locker. Well, let me say ... black blade and oak handle — elegance and classic in a great edition. It’s super light, as if the handle weighs nothing. Plus, a wooden box. Fits well in the hand, the locking ring moves with slight resistance but smoothly, and the blade doesn’t wobble when extracting, it opens smoothly without any force. This will be my favorite pocket knife :)
Medium-sized, ultra-light folding knife featuring an 8.5 cm locking blade. A legendary piece from the renowned French brand with a heritage spanning over a century.
Special limited edition with a black anodized blade
The blade, crafted in a clip point style, is made from Sandvik 12C27M stainless steel. Boasting a flat-full grind nearly reaching a zero-grind, and paired with its slim profile, the blade delivers outstanding cutting performance.
A notch on the blade, reminiscent of Victorinox penknives, enables easy opening. Secure blade lock is ensured by the Viroblock system, patented in 1955, which uses a steel ring at the pivot point on the handle. Once opened, simply rotate the ring to block the slot and immobilize the blade. The same mechanism prevents accidental opening when folded—an ingeniously simple and highly effective safety feature.
Constructed from oak wood, the handle is ergonomically contoured for a comfortable, warm grip. Customization is effortless, such as drilling a hole at the rear for a lanyard or creating personalized textures, carvings, or finishes to match any preference.
An excellent companion for camping and wilderness expeditions, ideally suited for enthusiasts who appreciate tradition and natural materials.

Manufacturer Opinel, France
Militaria.pl is a premium dealer of Opinel.
Opinel is a French knife brand whose history dates back to 1890 in Savoy. The founder, Joseph Opinel, created the first folding knife, No. 08, which quickly became a symbol of everyday use thanks to its simplicity and functionality. In 1955, the Virobloc locking system was introduced, later modernized, which is still the hallmark of the brand today. In 1985, Opinel was recognized by the Victoria and Albert Museum as one of the 100 best-designed objects in the world, and the brand's knives also found their way into the MoMA collection in New York. Production takes place in Chambery, with an emphasis on quality and ecology - the wood comes from French forests and the waste is used to heat the factory. Among the famous users was Pablo Picasso, who used Opinel for carving, and the knives themselves have become a symbol of simplicity, durability, and the French lifestyle.

Beautiful version of the Opinel with a black blade and oak handle. It may not be cheap, but it is beautiful and worth every penny.
