My first headlamp was a Petzel, of course the batteries leaked. Now I bought a Princeton, I have a comparison, and I think the one I have now is better, fits better, and has a red light. For those undecided, I recommend it.
Princeton Tec Fred Olive Drab headlamp flashlight - 200 lumens
Headlamp with a maximum power of 200 lumens. It is designed with mobility and user comfort in mind in all conditions. Small dimensions facilitate transport and storage, while low weight reduces fatigue during prolonged wear.
Elastic band adapts to the shape of the head, ensuring stability even during dynamic activities. The entire construction is suitable for use both in the field and during everyday tasks requiring free hands.
durable construction, Weather resistance
The housing made of durable composite effectively protects components from mechanical damage and external factors. IPX4 rating means resistance to splashes from any direction, allowing safe use during rain or in a humid environment. The construction is prepared for work in varying field conditions, increasing its reliability.
4 LEDs, white and red light
The applied 4 Ultrabright LED system provides an optimal balance between brightness and energy consumption. Three emitters generate a broad, even white beam that illuminates the workspace and surroundings well. The fourth LED is responsible for red light, useful in situations requiring discretion or maintaining night vision adaptation. This configuration increases functionality and allows the work mode to be adjusted to current needs.
White light:
- High - 200 lumens / 5.5 h / 21 m
- Low - 30 lumens / 41 h / 9 m
Red light:
- High - 12 lumens / 12 h / 5 m
- Low - 1.5 lumens / 130 h / 1 m
Adjustable tilt angle - precise light direction adjustment
The applied adjustment mechanism allows head position adjustment to current needs without changing body position. Large control button enables comfortable operation even in gloves, which is important in demanding conditions. Thoughtful access to the power compartment speeds up battery replacement and reduces downtime during work.
MOLLE/PALS compatibility and adjustable band
The flashlight can be conveniently carried both on the head and on equipment elements. Adjustable band allows precise adjustment to the head circumference, ensuring stability and comfort even during intense movement. The material does not cause pressure and well maintains the device's position during extended use.
Compatibility with MOLLE/PALS systems allows for mounting on backpacks, tactical vests, or belts, which increases functionality and simplifies equipment organization in the field.
Power supply 3x AAA or NiMH/NiCd batteries
The model supports popular AAA batteries included in the set, as well as rechargeable batteries for repeated charging. Users can choose the energy source depending on availability and planned working time. The ability to use rechargeable batteries helps reduce operating costs and increases independence during longer trips.

MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) is a system for attachment of tactical equipment, used for example in backpacks or tactical vests. It provides the possibility of flexible and modular placement of various accessories and pockets, which allows personalization and optimal adjustment of the item to the specific needs of the user. It is widely used by the military, special services and survival and outdoor enthusiasts.
PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) is a modular mounting system for pockets and pouches, used in the MOLLE system. It consists of horizontally sewn rows of 1 inch (25.4 mm) wide, fixed spacing webbing (such as on a backpack) and vertical webbing for attachment and threading (on a pocket). This system is usually equipped with snaps, which further secures the pinned items.

Great tactical headlamp. One of the few for more covert operation - it starts with red modes (from weaker), but after holding the switch longer, there are white modes. That's what I needed. Flawless workmanship. I haven't tested the waterproofness yet. Expensive but highly recommend.

I have been using this headlamp for many months and it has never let me down. The red light can be turned on first, which is very helpful when you don't want to reveal your position.
