The canister is a reasonable size for carrying in a pocket every day, regardless of the season or clothing. The clip is convenient for fastening to the inside of a trouser pocket, because for carrying on the outside it is probably too shallow. The button is large, intuitive, and comfortable to use (even in winter with gloves), and the easy-to-remove safety lock prevents accidental presses in the pocket without getting in the way during use. I cannot judge its effectiveness because I have not had the opportunity to use it, but it is always good to have something like this with you in order to deal with a nasty criminal if the need arises. With spray, as with urinating, it is better not to do it against the wind, but here the concentrated pressurized stream forgives mistakes, and under stress we are unlikely to spray ourselves.
