The M05 camouflage (Finnish M05 Maastokuvio) refers to a series of pixelated camouflage designs implemented by the Finnish Defence Forces in 2005 to replace the older M91 pattern. Developed using digital analysis of photographs of Finnish woodlands across various seasons, in collaboration with the Finnish Forest Research Institute, the M05 series encompasses multiple variants including woodland, snow, and cold weather options.
The standard woodland pattern of M05 features a combination of light green, dark green, brown, and dark graphite patches, accurately mirroring the natural patterns found in Finnish forests. With vegetation and terrain in Central and Eastern Europe closely resembling those of Finland, the M05 Woodland camouflage delivers superior concealment in these regions as well, ensuring effective blending within natural environments.
