Temperatures and conditions of use

The temperature ratings of the Snugpak Expedition sleeping bag are specified in accordance with EN 13537:

  • T-comfort: -12 degrees Celsius - the lowest temperature at which a woman can comfortably sleep through the night,
  • T-limit: -17 degrees Celsius - the minimum temperature at which a man can sleep through the night without discomfort,
  • T-extreme: -32 degrees Celsius - the lowest temperature at which it is possible to survive in the sleeping bag. This is not a value recommended for standard use.

Aqualight construction, Supersoft lining

The outer layer with hydrophobic properties is made of Aqualight material. The inner layer is Supersoft material, characterised by a durable weave, a soft texture and high breathability, ensuring comfort during use. The sleeping bag is filled with lightweight synthetic Isofibre insulation that provides optimum heat retention. The special fibre construction of the filling allows the sleeping bag to be hand-washed and machine-washed.

Left-side zip, insulated baffle, hood

The two-way zipper placed on the left side is protected by an insulated baffle, which protects against heat loss and prevents it from snagging. The webbing straps located at the bottom allow the sleeping bag to be hung up for drying or stored flat, which helps maintain its thermal insulation properties. The adjustable hood allows it to be fitted to the head, providing additional protection against heat loss.

Convenient transport and storage

The model is convenient to transport and store. When packed, the sleeping bag measures 33 x 28 cm, and it weighs 2600 g, which makes it easy to carry without excessively burdening your luggage.

    The sleeping bag is very warm and worth the price. Sleeping bags for low temperatures are very expensive. This one is reasonably priced and gets the job done. It's a pity there isn't a version adapted to height. At 170 cm tall, there is a lot of extra space inside lengthwise. It could be lighter if there were height-based size variants. I rate the build quality as good, although the stitching of the Velcro by the zipper is fraying. It is quite thick and very hard to pack into the sack, but it can be done. The price-to-quality ratio is okay. I would buy it again, because it is not so easy to find something for -10/-17C at this price

    Very warm and cozy, although it is quite heavy; it can be compressed a lot, but it is still fairly large. Despite the mummy shape, you can turn around freely and gently spread your legs, I highly recommend it :)

    Very good sleeping bag – in my opinion, it's on par with the Carinthia Defence 4, but costs less than half the price. I can honestly recommend it, and I plan to buy another one for my son before the holidays.

    Thick, thick and once again a thick, solid sleeping bag. At this price, it's hard to find something with similar parameters. The sleeping bag is comfortable inside. Plenty of width for a standard man. It's quite large when packed, but the compression sack works well and the weight is also considerable. I use it mainly in the car or in a stationary tent rather than carrying it on expeditions.
