The model is constructed from a combination of durable materials. Steel is used for the body, the receiver cover, the muzzle device, the fire selector components, the magazine catch and the recoil system components, among other parts. Aluminum components include the outer barrel, dummy gas tube, bolt, reloading handle, and magazine housing. This has allowed for weight reduction in selected components while maintaining high durability.
