Phenomenal work culture, the lock works great. With proper lubrication, there is zero friction when opening and closing. The blade profile is excellent, it cuts very well thanks to its thinness.
Spyderco Military 2 CPM S30V Folding Knife - Black
Folding EDC (Everyday Carry) knife featuring a Clip-Point blade crafted from premium CPM S30V steel, ensuring outstanding toughness, wear, and corrosion resistance. The blade sports a DLC coating. A robust Compression Lock mechanism, durable G10 laminate handle scales, and a clip that allows for ambidextrous mounting on either side of the knife are included.
CMP steel S30V, DLC coating
Featuring a Clip-Point blade profile with a 3.7 mm thick construction, this blade is crafted from premium CPM S30V steel utilizing powder metallurgy. The steel is hardened to 58-59 HRC, delivering excellent corrosion resistance, superior edge retention, ease of sharpening, and enhanced resistance to chipping. Incorporating a Full Flat Grind, the blade is treated with a black DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating, effectively safeguarding it from scratches and reducing unwanted reflections. Aggressive jimping has been added to the spine, providing a secure resting point for the thumb and enabling greater control and precision.
Compression Lock, Spyderhole
Effortless and smooth deployment of the knife is achieved through the enlarged 14 mm SpyderHole cut-out on the blade, allowing quick and simple one-handed opening with either hand. Spyderco's patented Compression Lock secures the blade in the open position, delivering outstanding robustness and reliable safety during use. For enhanced knife control, the design also features a Finger Choil—a contoured index finger groove located between the handle and the cutting edge.
G10 scales, spring clip
Reinforced steel liners form the core structure of the knife handle, complemented by panels made from highly durable G10 glass-epoxy laminate. An ergonomic contour and non-slip texture deliver a reliable and secure hold during use. At the rear of the handle scales, a Lanyard Hole enables attachment of a safety cord.
Daily carry is optimized by a robust, convertible clip (4 positions) mounted on the handle, allowing secure fastening to a belt or pocket edge.

Spyderco is an American company based in Golden, Colorado, founded in 1976 by Sal and Gail Glesser. The brand's origins are linked to the invention of the “Portable Hand,” which gave rise to the company's name, and in 1978, the innovative Tri-Angle Sharpmaker® was introduced. The breakthrough came in 1981 with the launch of the C01 Worker knife - the world's first model with a carrying clip, the distinctive Spyderhole opening, and the serrated SpyderEdge blade. Spyderco was also a pioneer in the use of new materials, being the first to introduce CPM S60V powder steel and H-1 stainless steel, designed for use in marine environments. For years, the brand has been collaborating with renowned knifemakers, including Al Mar, Ernest Emerson, and Marcin Slysz, creating unique models that have gained iconic status. The stylized spider logo symbolizes both the company's origins and Spyderco's values: precision, innovation, and high performance.
