Excellent for sharpening kitchen knives and thinner blades. Unfortunately, it can't handle thicker blades like CRKT knives (I have two). It doesn't increase sharpness much, so I guess I'll stick to a whetstone.

The sharpener works very well, in general I don't like these types of gadgets but it's fine for quickly touching up a knife. Fairly comfortable thanks to its size and it also doesn't take up much space. Additional plus for the rod with grit.
