The following is a range of wind guns from BSA, or Birmingham Small Arms. This is an English company with a very interesting history, as the year it was founded is the second half of the 19th century! That's when fourteen gunsmiths from Birmingham decided to set up a factories to produce weapons to support the British government during the Crimean War. After the conflict, however, it did not rest on its laurels and thrived. It is interesting to note that in later years BSA produced not only weapons, but also automotive equipment. As for the gunsmithing achievements, we owe the company the now legendary Sten MK.II submachine guns - this was the weapon used in the anti-Hitler battle, including on Polish territory. Today, the company, based in Southapmton, produces wind guns and limited versions of retro-style motorcycles. BSA's hallmarks have always been the reliability and meticulous workmanship of both weapons and motorcycle equipment. Today we will introduce you to equipment from the former category.
To begin with, let's explain what an air rifle is. It is a weapon that shoots lead shot using compressed air. In Poland, you can own any windcheater without a permit, as long as it does not exceed a force of 17J. All you have to do is go to the store or with a few clicks make a purchase on our website - and you're done! You can enjoy long-distance shooting at a target or cans - at your discretion. However, remember to properly secure the shooting area, as a shotgun pellet fired from BSA air rifles can fly up to several hundred meters if it does not encounter any obstacle! You should also always shoot with ballistic goggles. BSA windcheaters are divided into spring-loaded and PCP. All models have threaded barrels, which give the shot the proper rotation when shooting. Spring-loaded ones, like the Lighting XL SE GRT model, we have to reload after each shot by breaking the barrel and loading the shotgun into it. It is equipped with a nitrogen piston system that compresses the air, so it reduces vibrations during shooting and makes the windcheater quieter. The flagship model nowadays is BSA's Bucaneer series of windcheaters, which are already powered by a compressed air cartridge and equipped with a ten-shot magazine, so we don't have to load shotgun pellets every now and then. The cartridge, to which we pump the pressure to over 230 bar, is capable of firing up to 100 shots on a single tank, and the air is refilled with a pump or by rolling it from a diving cylinder.
Remember that the cartridge should not be emptied completely, as it will be difficult to fill it back up. This is warned by the pressure gauge located under the barrel. PCP windcheaters are recoilless and provide the best accuracy in their class. Note that BSA windcheaters do not have mechanical aiming instruments, so you should get a good scope; the right choice would be a magnification of at least 3-9x on an 11mm mount to get the best out of your windcheater. For whom are BSA air riflescopes designed? For all enthusiasts of long-distance shooting and people who appreciate quality and perfection in workmanship. When you choose a BSA airgun, you get an unparalleled finish, an aesthetically pleasing design, and one of the best shooting performances of all airguns on the market. The handcrafted beech or walnut wood bed is pleasing to the eye with its quality workmanship, and the fluted surfaces aid grip when shooting. During family gatherings you will easily arrange a shooting tournament even at several dozen meters - and we are talking about a sporting 14×14 cm target! The lack of recoil and stability of BSA's windcheaters means that even the youngest users can shoot with it. Remember that the windcheater should be stored in a suitable case and lubricated once in a while. A different lubricant will be needed for the maintenance of external parts, and another for the inside of the barrel. Separate attention must be paid to the wood. By properly cleaning and maintaining your windcheater, you will make it serve you for many years, giving you a lot of joy in shooting success.
