A useful and quite affordable item that you can throw into your backpack, it's not very heavy, and it could help at the most unexpected moment. Big plus for the storage pouch and the whistle ;)
Badger Outdoor Survival Ultralight Thermal NRC Tarp
Emergency Thermal Blanket forms a vital component of any survival kit. Owing to its versatile design, the blanket serves a wide range of purposes in tourism, outdoor adventures, rescue missions, and among uniformed services. The NRC blanket is engineered to minimize rapid body heat loss, provide insulation from ground temperatures, and deliver protection from adverse weather elements including wind and rain.
Waterproof material, double-sided metallized layer
Constructed from waterproof and robust plastic, the surface reflects up to 90 percent of body heat to safeguard against hypothermia. Featuring double-sided metallization in both silver and gold, the foil delivers superior heat reflection and aids in locating injured individuals due to its highly reflective color.
Compact dimensions and low weight
With dimensions of 206 x 130 cm when spread out and a weight of just 70 g, the blanket is lightweight and versatile. The tarp can be set up in numerous configurations, utilizing a rope or paracord, as well as available surroundings such as trees, rocks, terrain depressions, trekking poles, paddles, or even a bicycle.
Once packed down, the blanket remains compact, allowing for effortless storage in a backpack compartment or jacket pocket.

Survival and bushcraft: Functions as a means to construct improvised shelter, offering effective protection from wind, rain, and low temperatures. The reflective surface proves highly efficient for SOS signaling by redirecting light beams.
Trekking and mountain hiking: Shields against hypothermia during chilly nights in tents and acts as insulation from the cold, moist ground during stops along the route.
Camping and bivouac: Operates as an insulating underlay beneath a hammock or as an external layer over a sleeping bag, picnic rug, or tent floor, efficiently separating from cold and moisture.
Rescue operations and uniformed services: Plays a vital role in emergencies by delivering robust protection to injured individuals against hypothermia while awaiting rescue. The reflective coating aids rescuers in locating people in need, which is essential in challenging environments and poor visibility.

Bought to throw into my backpack for peace of mind in case it ever turns out to be needed. The cover is a good color for quick finding. I’ll add other NRC foils to have everything in one place. An extra plus for the whistle. :)
-
This is already my second foil from this store. I used it as an extra "floor" for the tent under the sleeping pads. Honestly? It saved us from a flood inside the tent. The tent was surrounded by water at one of the big festivals, water had started to seep in from below, but this foil held it off well until we could pack up and evacuate. And before that, it also insulated wonderfully. Highly recommend! :)

A very useful foil. The best part is that it's reusable and comes with a transport pouch with a whistle. It's always worth having it on you, just in case. Hopefully it won't be needed too often.
-
I bought it for an emergency situation for my wife's car and for my own backpack. I consider it an essential piece of equipment for basically anything if you travel a lot or move around in other ways. It looks like a more solid product compared to the standard NRC foil, so I would recommend it to everyone, for everyone.
-
Reusable product, in a neat packaging for carrying. The included whistle is a good idea and is loud. I carry the NRC thermal blanket in my backpack. I recommend the purchase.

While gathering equipment for a camping trip, I added the NRC thermal blanket to my basket just in case, because it’s inexpensive and it’s worth having something more solid than a standard disposable foil. It has very good reviews, so I didn’t hesitate for long. It is indeed lightweight and small when placed in the cover. You can even carry it in a cargo pocket in your pants.

The NRC comes in a convenient pouch, in a color that makes it easy to quickly locate in your gear. I think in this or another form, it's a must-have in every first aid kit. A useful detail is the emergency whistle attached to the end of the drawstring.
-
It seems quite sturdy. The foil is definitely thicker (like double thickness compared to regular rescue blankets). Another element to add to my backpack for emergencies. Worth having in your equipment.
-
NRC foil is a must-have for every tourist! Apart from its rescue purpose, I mainly use it on cool nights in the tent – I cover my sleeping bag with it, and during hot weather I cover the tent on the sunny side and open the vestibules for cross-ventilation to enjoy a pleasant temperature!

The blanket is stored away for tougher times :) It is worth having, so that in a crisis it can help us survive. I highly recommend buying one for a first aid kit, car, and for larger EDC :)

The NRC Badger Outdoor Survival Ultralight Tarp looks like a good quality, reusable product. It doesn’t take up much space in a backpack or in a car.
-
It's very good to buy and throw into your car or backpack, hopefully you'll never have to use it. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it, that's the truth, so it's good to own one.
-
It's worth having during tourist trips or while traveling, it doesn't take up much space and it doesn't weigh much either. It'll definitely come in handy both on excursions and during travel.

Product as described. I threw it into my backpack, and I hope I won’t have to use it often. A must-have in every first aid kit. I recommend it.
