Benchmade Mini Barrage 154CM Folding Knife - Black Valox

Folding everyday carry knife (EDC) with a Drop-Point profile blade, made from stainless 154CM tool steel. The handle is made from black Valox plastic.

154CM tool steel, flat grind

The blade has a Drop-Point profile, a length of 74 mm, and a thickness of 2.5 mm. It is made from high-quality 154CM stainless steel with a hardness of 58-61 HRC, characterized by long-lasting sharpness retention and high corrosion resistance. The blade with a flat grind has a satin finish, making it easier to clean and non-reflective.

Double-sided thumb stud, Axis Lock

Double-sided thumb stud and assisted opening allow for quick and easy access for both right- and left-handed users. In the open position, the blade is secured with the convenient Axis Lock. A slider located on the spine of the handle serves as a secondary lock, preventing accidental opening or closing.

textured Valox plastic handle

The contoured handle is made from durable Valox plastic - resistant to high temperatures and solvents. Texturing enhances grip stability during use. Additionally, the construction is reinforced with steel liners.

double-sided clip

The clip can be mounted on either the right or left side of the knife. It facilitates everyday carrying, allowing the knife to be attached to a belt, pocket edge, backpack, or other accouterments.

Benchmade Knife Company is an American brand founded in 1988 by Les de Asis in Oregon, with roots dating back to the 1970s when it operated as Bali-Song. The company became famous for producing folding and combat knives, and its butterfly logo refers to the first balisong models, which were awarded the title of Knife of the Year in 1979. Today, Benchmade manufactures knives in three lines: Blue Class, Black Class, and Gold Class, using modern powder steels such as S30V, M390, and CPM-20CV, and the patented Axis Lock, valued for its reliability and smooth operation. Among the brand's icons are the Griptilian, Bugout, 940 Osborne, Infidel, and Bushcrafter models, and the company regularly collaborates with renowned knifemakers such as Mel Pardue, Warren Osborne, and Ernest Emerson. Benchmade was the first knife manufacturer in the US to implement fully automated CNC production, achieving unprecedented precision and repeatability in the industry.

CPM 154 feature
CPM 154
CPM 154 is a stainless powder steel developed by Crucible Industries, which is an improved version of the classic 154CM steel. It is characterized by a high carbon content (1.05%) and chromium (14%), which ensures good corrosion resistance and high hardness. The steel also contains molybdenum (4%), manganese (0.5%), and silicon (0.3%), which improves its abrasion resistance and stability at high temperatures. Thanks to the CPM (Crucible Particle Metallurgy) technology used, the steel has a fine-grained microstructure, which translates into greater uniformity, better resistance to cracking, and more predictable behavior during sharpening. After proper heat treatment, CPM 154 achieves a hardness of 58-61 HRC, which provides an optimal combination of strength, sharpness retention, and corrosion resistance. This steel is often used in the production of premium knives, EDC knives, and custom designs.
Axis-Lock feature
Axis-Lock
Axis-Lock is a folding knife locking mechanism patented by Bill McHenry and Jason Williams, popularized and licensed by Benchmade. A spring steel bar (crossbar) slides transversely between the scales and fits into a recess on the back of the blade, firmly locking it in the open position. The mechanism works thanks to two omega springs that press the bar into the lock, ensuring smooth, two-handed operation and no play. To close the knife, simply slide the bar toward the rear of the handle and release the catch, allowing you to safely fold the blade without risking contact between your fingers and the blade.
Valox feature
Valox
Valox is a family of semi-crystalline thermoplastic resins based mainly on polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) and its blends with polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or polycarbonate (PC). The material is sometimes modified with glass fiber, mineral fillers, and flame retardants, which allows for increased mechanical strength, dimensional stability, chemical resistance, and better resistance to high temperatures. Valox has good electrical insulation properties and is suitable for injection molding of complex parts, making it ideal for use as a material for scales and handles.
