Benchmade Mini Freek CPM-S90V Folding Knife - Carbon Fiber

Light folding EDC (Every Day Carry) knife with a Drop-Point blade profile. The blade is made of high-quality CPM-S90V stainless steel. The handle scales are made of carbon fiber.

CPM-S90V stainless steel, satin finish

The blade has a Drop-Point profile, a length of 76 mm, and a thickness of 2.6 mm. It is made of CPM-S90V stainless steel known for its abrasion resistance. The blade is hardened to 59-61 HRC. The edge is ground with a flat grind and finished through satining, giving a semi-matte effect and effectively masking minor scratches that occur during use. The spine of the blade is covered with jimping to facilitate cutting guidance.

double-sided thumb stud, Axis Lock

The blade is opened using a double-sided thumb stud, allowing the knife to be opened with either the right or left hand. The sliding locking mechanism Axis Lock is highly durable and resistant to heavy loads and secures the tool against closing and accidental opening during transport.

carbon fiber handle, Lanyard Hole

The profiled handle scales are made of lightweight and durable carbon fiber. At the end of the handle, there is a Lanyard Hole for a securing cord and a two-position (right- or left-sided) steel clip allowing carry in the tip-up position.

Benchmade Knife Company is an American brand founded in 1988 by Les de Asis in Oregon, with roots dating back to the 1970s when it operated as Bali-Song. The company became famous for producing folding and combat knives, and its butterfly logo refers to the first balisong models, which were awarded the title of Knife of the Year in 1979. Today, Benchmade manufactures knives in three lines: Blue Class, Black Class, and Gold Class, using modern powder steels such as S30V, M390, and CPM-20CV, and the patented Axis Lock, valued for its reliability and smooth operation. Among the brand's icons are the Griptilian, Bugout, 940 Osborne, Infidel, and Bushcrafter models, and the company regularly collaborates with renowned knifemakers such as Mel Pardue, Warren Osborne, and Ernest Emerson. Benchmade was the first knife manufacturer in the US to implement fully automated CNC production, achieving unprecedented precision and repeatability in the industry.

CPM S90V feature
CPM S90V
CPM S90V is a premium powder metallurgy tool steel developed by Crucible Industries. It is characterized by a very high carbon content (2.3%) and chromium content (14%), which ensures high hardness and very good corrosion resistance. This steel also contains molybdenum (1%), vanadium (9%), and niobium (0.5%). After appropriate heat treatment, CPM S90V achieves a hardness of 58-61 HRC, which guarantees long-lasting edge sharpness, wear resistance, and resistance to high temperatures. Thanks to its high vanadium content, this steel forms hard carbides that extend edge durability, and its microstructure ensures uniform properties throughout the cross-section. It is one of the best materials for applications where extreme edge durability and damage resistance are required.
Axis-Lock feature
Axis-Lock
Axis-Lock is a folding knife locking mechanism patented by Bill McHenry and Jason Williams, popularized and licensed by Benchmade. A spring steel bar (crossbar) slides transversely between the scales and fits into a recess on the back of the blade, firmly locking it in the open position. The mechanism works thanks to two omega springs that press the bar into the lock, ensuring smooth, two-handed operation and no play. To close the knife, simply slide the bar toward the rear of the handle and release the catch, allowing you to safely fold the blade without risking contact between your fingers and the blade.
