Bestech Knives Fanga by Grzegorz "Kombou" Grabarski Folding Knife - Grey

A durable EDC (Every Day Carry) folding knife designed by Polish knifemaker Grzegorz “Kombou” Grabarski. The Clip-Point blade is made of D2 tool steel, which is characterized by high corrosion resistance and excellent edge retention. The smooth blade features a flat grind and is finished with a satin finish. The handle is made of G10 laminate with a non-slip texture. The knife opens using a flipper and thumb hole, and the Liner Lock ensures safe use.

Polish project

Grzegorz “Kombou” Grabarski is a well-known Polish knife designer who draws inspiration from pop culture, video games, nature, and biomechanics, combining modern design with futuristic, organic forms. He has collaborated with the Brrr… Knives brand, and his designs are currently produced in collaboration with Bestech Knives, having gained international recognition among collectors.

D2 tool steel

The blade is made of D2 tool steel, which is classified as a semi-stainless steel grade. This steel offers moderate corrosion resistance, high wear resistance, and the ability to maintain a thin, durable cutting edge. After hardening, it reaches a hardness of 57–62 HRC, which helps it retain its sharpness even with more intensive use.

Clip-point blade finished with satin

The blade, with a Clip-Point profile, is 108 mm long and 3.8 mm thick. It features a smooth cutting edge achieved through flat grinding. The blade’s geometry ensures high cutting efficiency while maintaining adequate strength, allowing for more intensive use of the knife. The blade is finished with a satin finish, which gives it a semi-matte texture that reduces glare and increases scratch resistance.

non-slip handle made of G10 laminate, titanium clip

The handle is made of G10 laminate, which consists of layers of fiberglass bonded with epoxy resin. This material offers high strength, moisture resistance, and light weight. The grip has an ergonomic shape with a non-slip surface. A titanium clip makes it easy to carry, allowing you to attach the knife to a belt, the edge of a pocket, or another piece of gear.

Liner Lock, flipper, and thumb hole

The blade is opened using a flipper, which, when open, acts as a small cross guard that prevents the fingers from sliding onto the blade or into the thumb hole. The opening mechanism itself has been improved by incorporating a ball bearing into the knife’s main axis. When open, the blade is locked in place by a Liner Lock.

D2 feature
D2
D2 is a high-carbon tool steel classified as semi-stainless, characterized by high wear resistance and the ability to maintain a thin, durable edge. It achieves a hardness of 57-62 HRC, which ensures long-lasting sharpness even with intensive use. Its chemical composition is a precisely selected combination of elements: carbon (1.4-1.6%), chromium (11-13%), molybdenum (up to 0.8%), vanadium (up to 1%), manganese (up to 1%), and silicon (up to 1%). The high carbon and chromium content ensures hardness and wear resistance, while molybdenum and vanadium improve the strength and durability of the cutting edge. Although D2 steel is not completely stainless, its corrosion resistance is sufficient to meet the requirements of most conditions of use. It is widely used in the production of mid-range and high-end knives, including handmade knives and cutting tools.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.

A very well-made, nice, stylish folder. The cutting edge is sharpened symmetrically on both sides, the blade is properly centered in the liners—two features that are not at all obvious and, in many currently available folders from well-known American brands, were less carefully made. Smooth action when opening and closing the knife, absolutely buttery smooth. The knife tip tapers down to needle size—it makes cutting material easier, but requires care not to accidentally break or roll the tip when contacting harder materials or during quick thrusts (like in the Yojimbo/Yojumbo by Spyderco, for example). Give this knife to someone who doesn't know the brand, and they would never guess it's... Chinese. Everyone knows what the phrase "made in China" evokes in pop culture, but you have to give them credit—nowadays their knives are simply masterful. I recommend it!

A very elegant knife. The mechanics are excellent. The scales are excellent. The lock is excellent. The quality of workmanship is excellent and higher than many knives with a European or American origin. I like it. The current price, in my opinion, is adequate. The problem is that it is not very sharp and the blade is 102 mm long, not 108 as described. It may be appealing and it's not heavy, but it is long, although still 5mm shorter than described.
