Boker Plus Kwaiken Grip Auto Spring-Assisted Knife

EDC spring knife (Everyday Carry), inspired by traditional Japanese knives, designed by American knifemaker Lucas Burnley. The blade with a Straight Back profile is made of D2 steel, which is characterized by high wear resistance. The handle is made of lightweight aluminum. The knife is equipped with an automatic opening mechanism, operated by a button located on the handle, which also operates the Button Lock securing the blade in the open position

D2 tool steel

The blade is made of D2 tool steel, appreciated for its high cutting aggressiveness and good abrasion resistance. After proper heat treatment, it reaches a hardness level of 57–62 HRC, ensuring long-lasting sharpness even with intensive use. Although D2 steel is not fully stainless, its corrosion resistance remains sufficient for everyday use

Slim blade with a Straight Back profile

The slim blade with a Straight Back profile is 85 mm long and 3.2 mm thick, and its smooth cutting edge is executed with a flat grind. This geometry provides good cutting control and is suitable for precision tasks. The satin finish of the blade gives a semi-matte effect

Aluminum handle, deep-carry clip

The handle is made of lightweight aluminum coated with a black layer. The pronounced anti-slip texture allows for a secure grip even with wet or dirty hands. Everyday carrying is facilitated by a flexible steel deep-carry clip, allowing the knife to be clipped to a belt or pocket edge

Spring mechanism activated by button

The blade is opened automatically by pressing the button located on the handle, which releases the spring mechanism. The same button functions as the Button Lock, securing the blade in the open position and allowing the safe use of the knife

note!

Polish law does not impose any restrictions on knife opening mechanisms. In other countries, there may be regulations restricting or prohibiting carrying certain types of knives - if you are traveling abroad with a knife, it is worth familiarizing yourself with them

D2 feature
D2
D2 is a high-carbon tool steel classified as semi-stainless, characterized by high wear resistance and the ability to maintain a thin, durable edge. It achieves a hardness of 57-62 HRC, which ensures long-lasting sharpness even with intensive use. Its chemical composition is a precisely selected combination of elements: carbon (1.4-1.6%), chromium (11-13%), molybdenum (up to 0.8%), vanadium (up to 1%), manganese (up to 1%), and silicon (up to 1%). The high carbon and chromium content ensures hardness and wear resistance, while molybdenum and vanadium improve the strength and durability of the cutting edge. Although D2 steel is not completely stainless, its corrosion resistance is sufficient to meet the requirements of most conditions of use. It is widely used in the production of mid-range and high-end knives, including handmade knives and cutting tools.
