Boker Plus Tactical Balisong - Small

Folding knife butterfly type, whose design refers to classic balisong knives made in the Philippines. Equipped with a blade with a Drop-Point profile, made of 440C stainless steel, and a handle with black scales made of G10 laminate. The whole is complemented by a solid Latch-type lock.

440C stainless steel

The knife's blade is made of 440C stainless steel, characterized by high corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention, and resistance to chipping. After hardening, it achieves a hardness range of 57–59 HRC. 440C steel is widely used in the production of high-class knives.

Drop-Point profile, compound grind

The blade with a Drop-Point profile has a length of 88 mm and a thickness of 2.5 mm and features a smooth cutting edge. The blade is finished with a compound grind, whose geometry provides good penetration and cutting properties while maintaining high durability. The blade's satin finish gives it a semi-matte surface, enhances aesthetics, and increases scratch resistance during use.

G10 scales, steel clip

The handle is made of stainless steel covered with scales made of durable glass-epoxy composite G10. The rough, non-slip texture ensures a firm and stable grip in all conditions. In both closed and open positions, the knife is secured with a solid Latch-type lock. Daily carrying is facilitated by a springy, steel clip.

Boker is a German knife manufacturer with a tradition dating back to the 17th century, known for its distinctive chestnut tree logo – “Tree Brand.” In 1830, the company was already producing up to 2000 sabers per week, which were sent to battlefields across Europe. In the 19th century, it expanded its operations to the US, Canada, and Mexico, establishing recognizable subsidiaries. Today, the main factory in Solingen specializes in handcrafted collector's and utility knives, including those made of steel recovered from historical objects such as the Tripitz battleship. 440C feature
440C
440C steel is a martensitic stainless steel from the 440 series, characterized by the highest carbon content in this series, ranging from 0.95 to 1.2%. This gives it a hardness of 57-59 HRC, which ensures excellent edge retention, chipping resistance, and durability. The chromium content (16-18%) guarantees very good corrosion resistance, making 440C steel suitable for use in humid conditions. Molybdenum additives (up to 0.75%) improve abrasion resistance and structural stability during hardening. Manganese and silicon (up to 1%) increase the hardenability and overall strength of the material, while low phosphorus and sulfur content reduce brittleness. 440C steel is widely used in the manufacture of high-end knives, including kitchen knives, folding knives, and professional tactical knives. It is also popular among craftsmen who produce custom-made knives, where high material quality and wear resistance are required.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.

The mechanism works smoothly, and the knife itself is very well fitted. It is suitable both for training basic tricks and for everyday carry.

The knife spins very nicely in the hand and gives a lot of satisfaction when practicing various tricks. It's handy, fits well in the hand, and works great both for fun and as an interesting addition to a collection.

I've never encountered such a poorly designed balisong. The handle is held with just one screw at the very bottom, which causes a lot of play near the blade. The pin that locks the blade is also not fixed in any way and just sits loosely (after a few days mine fell out). The handle lock is also terrible because it locks onto some other pin and tries to close itself as a result. In my opinion, it's just not worth the money. Even Jokers are much cheaper and more solid -_-. The only thing I can't complain about is the blade, as it's actually nice and seems solid, but the rest is a disaster.
