Temperature Ratings and Usage Conditions
The temperature ratings of the Carinthia D 800X sleeping bag are determined according to EN 13537 standards:
- T-comfort: -9 C - the lowest temperature at which a woman can sleep comfortably through the night,
- T-limit: -16 C - the minimum temperature at which a man can sleep without discomfort,
- T-extreme: -38 C - the lowest temperature at which survival in the sleeping bag is possible. This is not a recommended value for standard use.
Pertex Quantum Endurance and Shelltex Ultra Material
The outer shell is made of Pertex Quantum Endurance, while the inner lining features Shelltex Ultra. This lightweight fabric is resistant to mechanical damage, water, snow, and wind. At the same time, it offers excellent breathability, helping to wick away excess moisture and sweat, ensuring greater sleeping comfort. Its structure also makes it resistant to abrasion and tearing, making the sleeping bag suitable for intensive outdoor use.
G-Loft and 95/5 CQ-Down Insulation
The D800X model is filled with 95/5 CQ-Down white goose down, which is extremely lightweight, providing excellent thermal insulation and a high loft of 800 cuin (cubic inches). The down is arranged in H-shaped chambers, preventing it from shifting and ensuring uniform cold protection. The DIScover system adds an external insulation layer that protects the down from moisture and maximizes the sleeping bag's efficiency. Additionally, synthetic G-Loft insulation has been incorporated to maintain thermal comfort. This insulation retains its thermal properties even after exposure to moisture, washing, and prolonged use.
Right-Side Zipper with Anti-Snag System
The sleeping bag features a two-way zipper located on the right side, allowing for full opening. The Anti-Snag system prevents fabric from getting caught in the zipper. A Velcro flap at the top of the zipper prevents accidental opening during sleep. Inside, there is a small pocket for storing small items.
Integrated Hood for Cold Protection
