A large telescope equipped with a 10-inch Newtonian reflector enables real-time observation of the night sky on a smartphone screen (smartphone not included). Features include a StarPointer finder (red dot), a primary mirror diameter of 254 mm, a 1200 mm focal length, and a 2" Crayford focuser.
All optical components are treated with StarBright XLT coatings to increase contrast and maximize light transmission. This ensures that even the finest lunar, planetary, galaxy, and nebula details are visible. The mirrors are crafted from low thermal expansion optical glass, ensuring stable image quality under varying environmental conditions.
Sky observation using a smartphone is facilitated by placing the device in a dedicated holder and utilizing the StarSense Explorer app powered by LISA sky recognition technology. The app analyzes star patterns to determine the telescope's position; after an object is chosen, directional arrows displayed on the smartphone guide users quickly and efficiently to the target celestial body.
The Dobsonian base delivers excellent stability through large vertical-axis bearings with adjustable friction, Teflon bearings on the horizontal axis, and reinforced side panels. The design ensures smooth vertical movement; a handle mounted on the tube allows for precise aiming without transferring heat from hands to the optics.
Compatibility with virtually all 1.25" and 2" telescope eyepieces is provided by a 2" to 1.25" adapter and a 2" extender, both included. The set also features a 25 mm Plossl eyepiece.
