Cold Steel Outdoorsman Lite 4116 Knife

A robust fixed-blade knife designed with a Full Tang construction, featuring a length of 15.2 mm and a Straight Back blade profile. Precision-forged from German 4116 stainless steel, the blade ensures durability and reliability. The ergonomic handle combines polypropylene and rugged Kraton material for a secure grip. The set comes equipped with a functional sheath with a clip for convenient carry.

4116SS Stainless Steel

Forged from robust 4116SS stainless steel, the knife blade offers exceptional resistance to corrosion, excellent edge retention, and simple upkeep. Precision heat treatment brings the blade to a hardness rating of 55-57 HRC.

Straight Back blade, satin finish

Equipped with a Straight Back profile, the blade measures 152 mm in length and 4 mm in thickness. Featuring a flat grind and smooth edge, the blade delivers exceptional cutting performance. Enhanced with a satin finish, the blade boasts a semi-matte look that minimizes reflections. An additional edge along the spine is designed for tougher outdoor tasks like debarking wood or breaking branches.

Durable Kraton handle

The handle combines polypropylene with highly durable Kraton, offering a non-slip texture that guarantees a firm and comfortable hold even in wet environments. A single-sided cross guard provides reliable protection, preventing fingers from sliding onto the blade. For improved control, the spine incorporates jimping (serrations) at the thumb rest, allowing for enhanced maneuverability during use.

Sheath with clip

Included in the set is a functional sheath featuring a spring clip for secure belt attachment. The sheath provides both easy knife carry and effective protection for the blade against damage and environmental elements.

4116 Krupp feature
4116 Krupp
4116 Krupp is the trade name for high-quality stainless steel from the German DIN 1.4116 group, produced by ThyssenKrupp. It is used in kitchen knives and medical instruments. The carbon content (0.45-0.55%) ensures good hardness and edge durability, while chromium (14-15%) guarantees high resistance to corrosion and oxidation. The steel also contains molybdenum (up to 0.6%), vanadium (up to 0.2%), manganese (up to 1%), silicon (up to 1%), and a small amount of nickel (up to 1%). It achieves a hardness of 55-57 HRC after appropriate heat treatment, which allows for knives with good cutting properties, easy maintenance, and corrosion resistance.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.
Kraton feature
Kraton
Kraton is a modern synthetic elastomer used mainly in the production of knife handles. It combines the properties of rubber and plastic, ensuring a secure and comfortable grip even in wet conditions. This material absorbs vibrations and impacts well, which increases comfort during prolonged use. Compared to traditional rubber, Kraton is more resistant to abrasion, chemicals, UV radiation, and temperature fluctuations.

A fairly large and very lightweight knife with a fixed blade. Where low weight of carried equipment is important, it will be perfect. The sheath may not be the greatest, but it works.
