Cold Steel Republic Bushcraft Knife S35VN Fixed Blade Knife

A durable survival and tactical knife with a full-tang construction, meaning the blade tang extends through the entire handle. The Drop-Point blade is made of CPM S35VN tool steel. The handle is made of micrata.

CPM S35VN powder steel

The blade is made of CPM S35VN powder-metals steel, valued for its high corrosion resistance and cutting edge durability. After proper heat treatment, it achieves a hardness of 58–60 HRC, allowing it to retain its sharpness for a long time and perform well during intensive, everyday use.

PVD coating, flat grind, deep jimping

The Drop-Point blade is 127 mm long and 3.9 mm thick. It features a flat grind, which provides excellent cutting performance. The blade is finished with a black PVD coating, which eliminates glare and protects against corrosion. The spine of the blade features deep jimping (notches) for greater control during cutting. A cross guard has also been added to prevent the hand from sliding onto the blade.

micarta handle

The handle scales are made of micarta. The textured, non-slip surface ensures a secure grip. There is a hole at the back of the handle through which you can thread a cord to prevent the tool from being lost.

leather sheath

The set includes a leather sheath that allows for convenient carrying and safe storage of the knife.

CPM S35VN feature
CPM S35VN
CPM S35VN is a stainless powder steel developed by Crucible Industries in collaboration with Chris Reeve, used in premium knives. It is an evolution of the popular S30V steel, offering a better balance between wear resistance, stainlessness, and ease of machining. Carbon (approx. 1.4%) is responsible for high hardness, while chromium (approx. 14%) gives the steel very good corrosion resistance, and vanadium (approx. 3%) extends edge life and improves cutting aggression. After hardening, it reaches 58-61 HRC, combining edge durability with fracture resistance. The steel retains its sharpness for a long time and is easy to sharpen, commonly used in EDC, outdoor, tactical, and collector's knives.
Micarta feature
Micarta
Micarta is a composite material made of layers of fabric (including canvas, linen, and paper) soaked in resin and pressed under high pressure and temperature. It is characterized by high mechanical strength, resistance to impact, abrasion, and changing weather conditions, as well as dimensional stability, which makes it ideal for knife handles. The surface of Micarta provides a secure grip and can be finished smooth or left with a slight texture to improve control over the tool. The material does not conduct heat or electricity, tolerates contact with moisture well, and acquires a characteristic patina over time, emphasizing the individual style of the knife. Thanks to its combination of durability, environmental resistance, and unique appearance, Micarta is widely used in EDC, outdoor, and collector's knives.
PVD - Physical Vapor Deposition feature
PVD - Physical Vapor Deposition
PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating is a modern technology for applying ultra-thin layers of metal in a vacuum, which significantly increases the durability of knives. Thanks to this, the blade becomes highly resistant to scratches, abrasion, and corrosion, while gaining a matte surface that reduces glare. This process allows for aesthetic finishes in various colors, from deep black to gold, which do not wear off like classic paint. As a result, the knife retains its great appearance and full functionality even with intensive use.

High precision workmanship, it's nice to see knives of this brand made in the USA instead of Asia. Practical design, top materials. What more could you want. I recommend it.
